Guest LANREATH BOSS Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Welcome to the league Johnnie.....that's a cracking result !!!! Lanreath 2 - St Stephen 2 Colin Wilson a.k.a Sarge scored both our goals on his league debut and was definately M.O.M. I'm now at home nearly 3 hours after the final whistle and what I still can't believe is how we only ended up with 1 point. Last 10 minutes Bradley Powell hit the post, Leighton Mitchell narrowly missed a header at the back post and Dan Lawrence scored a winning goal which was ruled out for off-side even though he started his run from almost in his own half - he must have been at least 2 or 3 yards on-side !!! So we feel a bit cheated tonight. Still 1st point is on the table. Mark.
Guest cornishgreen Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Camelford 3 St Blazey 4 A game of two halfs for the greens of st blazey today. first half, we were excellent, scoring a superb goal inside the openning five minutes. a defence splitting ball from midfielder Cole sent Steele through and he cooly rounded the keeper to open his account for the season. St blazey bombarded the home defence without reply, and duly scored a second when cockins turned his marker in the box to dispatch a fine goal. the second half proved to be a very different story, with the camels goalkeeper proving to be the star of the show.....his long goal kicks were easilly reaching our eighteen yard box and causing our centre backs numerous problems. Jason Spillet added a third for st blazey before the camels started a spirited fightback. three long punts from the keeper and three goals later, they were level pegging and looking to win the game. a fine save from the blazey keeper at one end, turned into a swift attack which involved adrian rundle, danny smith and new signing Rich Elland gaining a corner. Matt May won a header back post, and sent the ball back into the danger area, where Dean Webb cooly applied a finish most forwards would be proud of. an impressive first half, poor twenty minute spell and inability to deal with the long punt, but all at st blazey are pleased with the character shown in the end to get the three points. Man Of The Match: Smith/Cole - too strong for the camels midfield. solid performances.
