City started the game with some early pressure looking as though they were intent on extending their 100% record. In their first attack, Shane Tolley shot narrowly wide but after just 3 minutes, the game plan was thrown up in the air. A hopeful long ball to a Barnstaple forward who looked several yards offside but was not given as the Assistant Referee was behind the play and Jason Chapman advanced from his goal. He appeared to get a touch on the ball before clattering into the Barnstaple forward and initially the referee seemed to see nothing wrong but the Assistant referee flagged insistently. After consulation Chapman was shown a straight Red card and the game took on a differenet complexion.

Jake Ash took over in goal having made two previous full appearances in that position for Budleigh Salterton some years ago.

Immediately after this, City made a tactical substitution bringing on Graeme Power for Chris Reski.

In the 7th and 9th Minutes, there were two bad fouls on Tom Smith which earned no more than a finger-wagging from the referee.

City set about Barnstaple in a purposeful fashion and on 12 minutes deservedly took the lead with a powerful Yetton header from a lovely Walker cross.

On 17 mins City created another chance when after more good work down the left, Walker squared the ball to Yetton who skewed his shot wide.

On 24 mins Barnstaple No. 4 booked for a foul on Joe Broad. Two mins later Yetton was upended but Scott Walker's free-kick hit the wall.

After looking good, City conceded a soft equaliser. Dan Tapp scoring with an easy header from a corner with the defence seemingly caught napping.

Barnstaple started the second-half brightly and in the 48th min, they had a good chance after a long ball to the far-post which was completely missed by the oncoming forward.

On 53 mins City regained the lead after a lovely passing movement down the left involving Tolley Broad and Walker ended with another lovely centre from the latter which was headed powerfully goalward by Danny Harris. The goalie made a good block but Harris forced in the rebound.

In the 6lst minute Barnstaple's No 8 was booked after tripping Mark Vercesi as he was lining up a shot

On 72 mins Yetton burst through the inside-left channel and hit a crisp left-foot shot which beat the keeper but hit the outside of the far post. A minute later Marcus Martin came on for Vercesi.

On 80 mins a back-pass from Smith was a little short and although Ash raeched it he could only clear it out to one of the Barnstaple forwards who put in straight back into the net.

As the match went 2 mins into injury time, there was a bit of head-tennis in the City area and the ball fell for the Barnstaple No. 10 who was brought down by Smith. Although it wasn't the best Penalty ever seen, Jake Ash did well diving to his right to save with his body and clear the danger.

Even then, there was time for one more drama as in Barnstaple's next attack, Tom Smith cleared the ball and Barnstaple's No. 11 kicked out at him and after consultation with the Assistant, the referee produced another red card. It appeared that Ash was also booked for protesting a bit too strongly about the foul.

Game ended 2-2 so that City at least, kept their unbeaten League record. All the team worked very hard in difficult circumstances showing a great team spirit.

Jason's sending off sounds a little harsh. First of all it was offside and then he got the ball before the man. Unlucky Jason. Interesting to learn that Jake played in goal before for Budleigh Salterton. Yetti grabbed a good header and hit the post later. Arsenal's result must have cheered him up though. Shame to hear we let in a "soft" goal for Barnstaple to equalise which would have given them a confidence boost. Good to hear Danny scored, first goal for the club i believe. Sounds like Jake had a craker in goal what with the penalty save and nearly keeping out thier second goal. No one likes to see a player lash out and it sounds like the Barnstaple player deserved his red card.

All things considered, it appears Truro did as well as they possibly could. Slightly dissapointing to see the 100% record broken byt still we can call ourselves unbeaten. 10 wins from 11 games isen't bad is it, with the confidence and class the players have the only way is up.
