I'm not convinced yet. He didn't have that much of the ball to make a solid opinon. Yeah, he looked comfortable but it was an ideal game to come into. I wouldn't feel confident with him at the back in a big game. Plus his got to lose that support, it's screaming out crunch me on my left leg!

Tom played in the ECPL for St Austell at the age of 15 and by 16 made a handful of SWL appearances for the Lillywhites.

He then had a season with Nanpean in the ECPL before winning the ECPL with Foxhole Stars under Andy Dingle.

With Gary Penhaligon taking over at Falmouth, Tom again made the step up to the SWL and last season was at St Blazey, but, missed almost the entire season due to injury.

A classy defender and a nice guy too.

Truro City maintained there 100% home record with a superb second half display that blew Ilfracombe away in front of a very good crowd. City nearly scored from the kick off but it was Ilfracombe who could of taken the lead after nine minutes when Lewis broke free but his shot was smothered by the advancing Chapman.

Shane Tolley set up Vercessi five minutes later but he saw his shot just go wide of the target but two minutes later after good work on the left by Tolley his cross found Yetton on the far post who volleyed past the helpless Oliver in the Ilfracombe goal. The crowd may well of expected City to push on but the first half saw them frustrated by the Ilfracombe defence and a lack of finishing.

On 25 minutes Ilfracombe drew level when Lewis header at the back post caused a goal mouth scramble with Heddon prodding the ball home from three yards the rest of the half saw lots of City pressure but lacking the final touch.

What ever was said behind closed doors at half time seemed to ignite the City players into life and within sixty seconds they took the lead after good work from Walker saw his cross converted by Gosling, on fifty four minutes Yetton lobbed Oliver from 25 yards to make it 3-1. Yetton could of completed his hat trick two minutes later after a bad clearence from Oliver saw Yetton advance but his effort was smothered and the danger was cleared.

Within a minute Marcus Martin scored from a cross with a mis hit shot that went over the keeper, City were now on fire and on 59 minutes Scott Walker scored with his head at the far post after a Gosling cross. It was soon six when Yettons shot was only partly saved and the rebound found Tolley to score and he doubled his tally and City's lead to seven on 66 minutes when he broke free of the Ilfracombe defence to calmly slot the ball past Oliver.

Ilfracombe could not find anything to stop the onslaught they thought they had got a consolation goal on 73 minutes but the referee's assistant's flag was raised for offside. Although the rest of the match produced no more goals Chambers came on for his debut and looked a good prospect and not out of place.

Truro now have thirty five points out of a possible thirty nine and extended there lead over second place Frome the now have three league matches in ten days which will shape there season in there push to become the first Cornish side to reach the Southern League.
