These are the top two teams in Mining League Division Two this season with one win a piece over each other. Good luck Chacewater.
Soccer Follower
Result - Chacewater 1 Newlyn NA 0 h/t 1-0 A first minute goal by Mike Hitchens was all that seperated the two teams at the end of an entralling but nerve wracking game which was played in a good atmosphere and enjoyed by all. Chacewater had chances to extend the lead in the first half but were indebted to goalkeeper Russell Grice and his hard working defence for keeping a clean sheet as Newlyn were the better team in the second half. All in all,a great advert for Division Two and Mining League football. Well done to the Newlyn and Chacewater players for contributing to such a good game and also not forgettibg the three officials,Derek Fox and his assistants Paul Barker and Adam Price, who were all on top of the match. Guest Mouth
Congratulations to Chacewater for yesterday. Our own mistake within the first minute proved costly, and it was one of those days where no matter what we tried we couldn't get the ball in the net. That said, Chacewater did defend excellently for the full 90 minutes.
Gorgie
Like last season's final between Four Lanes and St Buryan another really good match, which in my opinion, Newlyn shaded but were just unable to convert numerous opportunities!! Both side's seem more than equipped to hold their own in Division 1 next season, but it will be interesting to see who will go up as champions The Oxland Park pitch looked the best I've seen it for a while and have to agree with Nige, the Officials played their part in a great game, with the ref allowing the match to flow brilliantly :clapper:
