cloughy
i heard today that fal ath and mousehole application has been ripped up ,because they put it in to late ,the deadline was december ,does anyone have anymore info please let us no
cornishteddyboy
At the last meeting even though there were originally 4 applications, it was agreed that Moushole could not finish in their league in a high enough position to be considered. A late application from Probus was discussed and rejected. There are still 3 teams in the melting pot, Troon, Storm and Falmouth Athletic. All have been inspected, all had issues to resolve. Final choices, if any will be discussed, proposed, accepted and/or rejected at the Combo AGM.
Bananaman
total joke!Last season Hayle and wendron both got promoted to the swp league after finishing mid table or below in the poor combo league!troon, storm and fal ath all have very poor facilities, but thats probably, why the fat cats at the combo meetings want them in the league,to improve the high standards that the league has shown.e.g perranwell playground,st.ives golf club, holmans hole and culdrose lets play till july fc! well done the combo league! :SM_carton:
carlsberg
dont know when you was down dracena watching athletic last but there facilities are superb with the new changing rooms down there prop one of the best facilities in the league but agree with you on troons and storms facilities are poor. Deano
Agreed the changing facilities are the best in Fal/Helston 1 down there now, bit of work on the pitch and it will be a top ground, the pitch is flatter than Perranwell!!
Ian Gregory
In reply to bananaman, in the season Mousehole ,Hayle and Wendron were promoted to the SWPL. They finished 2nd, 4th and 8th respectively out of 20 clubs. They were the only three, out of the ten that originally applied, that did not withdraw their applications, or met the SWPL criteria. The one i was in few weeks back hadnt seen a paint brush in years, no where to hang clothes and if i was to be petty a bit of toilet cleaner once every 5 or so years wouldnt hurt. Pitch relaid, no facilities to cut it though. Other than that yea your right its lovely
cloughy
gillo ,we could not do to much work until the evening games were mostly over ,now they are we have spent a lot money to bring up the standard to wot combo want ,new car park ,refs room with own shower ,clubhouse is now finished just waiting for licence ,new mower, relaid pitch ,and complete refurb on existing changing rooms ,i just hope its enough to get us combo :glare:

Fatso
Not sure what is so bad about the facility at Storm?? To be fair not much work has been done to it in a while, and it would only take a couple of months to become very very good. However, for what we need it for it is ok. Combo? Not really fussed, unless a club has shed-loads of cash you can only do things bits at a time. As foor Troon I think as a former senior club (not too many years ago) that is obviously making big improvements to their ground and facilities, good luck to them! They have shown their ambition! They are a strong side that will get better with promotion as they will attract new players. Best of luck Cloughy & Reno
Clubman
Saw Falmouth Athletic at Pendeen a couple of weeks ago and with their attitude towards the match official the Combination League could do without them. And Ben Andros never turned up again! :SM_carton:
matchu78
Storm had very little to do to make the criteria, anyone who says the facilities are poor obviously hasn't played there as the changing facilities are superb (if in need of a touch of paint) and the pitch although occasionally a bit bumpy is very good. All we needed were dugouts and fencing behind the goals as we had everything else in hand, the dugouts are going in over the summer along with new goalposts. Its all redundant anyway as we finished 4th so we couldn't get promoted anyway, but saying the facilities are poor is a bit of a stupid comment!
