League Cup Final

12th April

Perranporth (Dean Harris 2, Alex Arquati) 3-0 Perranwell

Att -370

Ludgvan 0-2 Penryn.

Both teams very poor.

First goal a penalty given after 13, 15 or 17 seconds depending who's watch you were looking at. 2nd goal scored direct from a corner in 2nd half.

For most of the game Ludgvan gave as good as they got and the only difference between the teams was slightly better passing from Penryn.

Supplementary Q-Final

Holman SC 1 Illogan RBL 0

Really good match to watch, and just like their previous encounter on Boxing Day Holmans seemed the more determined side!

The home side dominated the midfield battle with Adam Freethy, Nicky Medlin, Mark Perry and Fraser Cadman all having excellent games, and Carl Papperone and Tony Eddy constantly tested the Illogan backline!

Referee Phil Avis was replaced at half time due to a calf strain, Mike Carter luckily on hand to step in, both excellent officials :clapper:

Paps scored the winner straight after a really good chance from Illogans Gary Sturmey, who along with Paul Wolstencroft looked like the only player capable of creating an opportunity for Illogan

Really good crowd, but would'nt like to guess how many ;)

It was good sportsmanship today when a holmans player(the one that works at corn) really hurt his leg and Aaron Clark Immediatly kicked the ball out of play abd called over the Illogan First Aider.

Illogan were simply out played and Holmans fully deserved the win. Good luck to Caddie And Coopsie In the next round.

St Just 3 Mullion 2....bit of an end-of-year affair, with the daisies on the pitch getting very prolific. With Perranwell and Perranporth coming for the last two home games, St Just are unlikely to cut or roll it now.

Once it gets more than a foot long, Brock the Badger leaves his calling vards everywhere and even Willy and his Shovel can't get to them, to say nothing of the rubble everywhere. Anyway, looking forward to Mr Roberts coming down to Lafrowda to present the league winners trophy to one of our esteemed visitors......there's quite a reception for him being planned !

Stuart Nicholls got a good contact to head in Chris Curnow's corner for the only goal of the first half, although Chris Ensink should have scoed at the other end, bringing a tremendous block from Andrew Curnow. St Just seemed to playing at half pace in the sunshine.

The game was meandering towards a 1-0 home win when veteran Danny Hickey scythed in a beauty from 25 yards and it was game on. Four minutes later Stuart Nic scored his fourth of the week, lobbing the Mullion second team striker, who had stood in excellently between the posts.St Just hit the bar four times without really exerting themselves fully after that, then the teams exchanged penalties just before the final whistle, netted by Chris Curnow and young Mr Meagor.

Linesman was terrible (sorry, boys, groin strain) but the food was excellent ! Well done Stacey and her team !!!

:D:c:

Just time for me to ring up Mr Roberts and sing Just One Cornetto. :clapper:
