Guest Peppermint
Just noticed on the League Forum that Glynn Hobbs of Tavistock has been given a jail sentence for smashing someone's jaw. Very sad - I think he was at BodminTown earlier in the season. His list of offences do not make good reading. One interesting point about the report was his quoted earnings - £100 painter and decorator and £85 for semi professional football!!!!!!!
Mike Odgers
Must be a shock to Tavistock as he was included in their squad for todays Home fixture with Falmouth. Re.Plymouth Evening Herald yesterday. Wasn't he the player who was linked to Manchester United for trials?
Guest Uncle Albert
Yes, Hobbs was watched by Man Utd scouts a lot last season, and was then invited to train with Utd reserves at the start of this season, but didnt want to leave his family in Plymouth. He started the season at Bodmin but left there after falling out with Alan Carey. Hobbs did a runner from Priory Park after a night match when police arrived to speak to him about breaking a curfew; Carey managed to persuade the cops to wait until after the game, but then Hobbs escaped out of the back of the changing rooms and away into the darkness. He has big family 'issues'. It's a great shame - a real waste of talent.
