Newlyn NA 6 - 1 Mousehole

Good battling performance from Newlyn after last week's slip-up. Adam Strowger scored twice in the first half, the second being a header. Callum Mitchell then saw his spot kick hit the post.

Mousehole pulled one back after half-time with a looping shot that dropped in, but this inspired the Crabs to up their game. Skipper Louis Vanhinsbergh headed in the third from a Dion Star throw, before Callum Mitchell made the game safe, slotting home from Stroowger's pass. Leo Gwynn made it 5 before making way for Hamish Young who's persistent work led to Newlyn's sixth - Strowger claiming his hat-trick.

A good game played in good spirit bar one stupid tackle near the end. Hats off to Mousehole, who were short of numbers and made no complaints about the stand-in ref.

Apologies for our dreadful pitch too.

Division 3

Cornish Newboys 2 Storm 2 (h/t 2-2)

Hugely dissapointing result for Newboys against one of our main challengers for promotion :(

The first half was very entertaining with good spells from either side and 4 really well worked goals, but the second was extremely poor with neither side putting in the necessary effort to win the game!!

As Storm were reduced to 10 men for an unecessary abusive comment at the offical we feel even more gutted not to have capitalised!!

Well refereed by Dermot :clapper:

Mining League Div. 3

St. Buryan Res. 3 .v. Trevenson Utd Res. 2

Dis-appointing loss because the winning goal was so soft. 2-2 at half time and to be honest we had all the play but we weren't penetrative enough to make our possesion tell. Shaun Wilkins put us 1 up early doors after his slightly fluffed shot still managed to trickle past the home 'keeper. St. Buryan equalised after a punt up field wasn't flicked back to our ' keeper with enough on it from Robbie Bailey and their forward lobbed Nathan Hick in goal. St. Buryan went into the lead after we tried to hold the offside but failed to track there midfielder who ran through to score. James Doe equalised for us with about 10 to go in the 1st half prodding home after finding the ball at his feet from a corner. Second half and St. Buryan used the wind to there advantage, launching the ball pretty much everytime they attacked. It was from one of these punts, early in the half, that they scored the winning goal. The ball eventually dropping to their winger on the left hand side who knocked it over for their striker to head home. We never played as well second half but think we worth at least a point today but thats football! Good luck to St. Buryan for the rest of the season from all at Trevenson FC.

Chacewater 3 Titans3

to be fair titans are disappointed to have dropped 2 points against top of the table Chacewater.

after going a goal down after only 70seconds titans came back to equalise before 5minutes had gone.then Chacewater scored a second and titans had to fight back to go in at half time 3-2 up. in the second half titans failed to take control of the game and allowed Chacewater back into the game to equalise.

in fairness titans had two very good chances from wayne brown who hit the crossbar with the keeper well beaten and adam james just past the post who were both outstanding in midfield.

thanks to Chacewater for thier hospitallity and vocal support from the touchline as ever,1sts watching as they had no game.very physical game but that is what you expect at Chacewater. :P good luck with your quest to win the league from titans :drink: :c:

Just wanna say really tough game today, against a top quality side.

I honestly believe this side will not only progress up from this league this year, but also through the entire mining leagues.

If they carry on believing in their own game which is football on the floor, then i can't see anything in the mining leagues competing with them.

On Heamoors side it was a team put together 10 mins before kick off, & on the back of uptunes of fortunes in recent weeks it was a worthy reality check.

I felt that with a restricted side the team still held their own against top quality opposition, & can still be confident at the outlook for the rest of the season, & can look forward to playing against madron next week if they can get a side together.

KEEP BELIEVING HEAMOOR BLUES :yahoo:

Trevenson 0-7 Illogan

Gareth Pitt 2, Jeb Martin 2, Luke Healan, Johnny Jones and Mikey Pascoe

Game was over in first half really and there should have been quite a few more scored 2nd half but 3 points is 3 points. Quite a few bookings and a sending off made it a messy game. All the best to trevenson until end of the season.

Madron 3-3 Portreath

Madron started slowly going 1-0 down early on, we went close soon after hitting the bar, we managed to bring it back to 1-1, only to go 2-1 down shortly after, we ended the half well with a well taken goal and pushed on for another but it didnt come. Into the second half Portreath started well and having most of the chances but we defended well and looked like we would score going forward, Madron took the lead with a well taken free kick, but let it slip it ended 3-3. A draw probably a fair result.

Madron Goal Scorers

Dan Burt 2 (24 for the season now)

Dan Mitchell 1

Also Madron Res 0-8 St Ives Mariners

Reserves again struggled for a side, but good to see they are playing there games no matter how many players they have.

Can you please confirm the actual names of these players as I'll put a short report in the Cornishman. Who got the penalty in the first half.

Good performance by Ludgvan. It was fairly tight in the first half, the penalty being all that separated us, and Gulval missing a couple of half chances. However, second half was all Ludgvan who played some good simple football, knocked it around and deservedly got a comfortable win. Good luck for the league title, I think you'll do it.

Sunday Fixture

Holmans 1 v 7 School of Mines

We were crap even after loading a few players in from our other sides and totally deserved the drubbing from a very decent school of mines side. Clearly all the players at Holmans are regular churchgoers who were being religous and took the "day of rest" on a Sunday to mean "cant be arsed to play"!!!!Oh well roll on 31st May :)

Illogan 6/7 (a debate at the end of how many they scored) Mount Ambrose 0

Turning up with the bare 11 again and players out of position the lads never gave up and gave a more spirited performance than last week against madron. Illogan more than deserved there win a good bunch of lads and a good pint after in the RBL watching the 15+ minutes of injury time in the combo game (from where no one knows). Good luck to illogan for the rest of the season

West Cornwall 7 Heamoor 1

Little ginger lad upfront for the home team was all over us, im suprised he doesn't play at a higher level. The home team had 90% of the chances and look like the best team in the league to me and will get promoted, no excuses but Heamoor had some key players out for this game and it showed in places. Damien Wager scored a good goal for the away team with a hard low finish in the bottom corner, Heamoor will need improve if we wana get 3 points next week.

Well done to West Cornwall nice bunch of guys, if you keep the same side you will do well next season :clapper:

DIVISION 1.

Threemilestone 2, Gwinear 3.

TMS goalscorers, Patterson & Taylor.

Gwinear not the best team in the world but did enough to beat a very poor tms.

Good luck to gwinear for the rest of the season. :c:

A very disappointing display by Threemilestone, did not get into any sort of stride and did not deserve to get anything out of the game. Gwinear battled harder than we did and becasue of this deserved their win.

After producing such a good performance away to Illogan in the Dunn Cup, it was hoped the team would take that display and bring it into the league, this was not the case, hopefully we can improve this weekend, (to be honest could not get any worse). It is hoped that over the next couple of weeks the squad can settle down and finally kick on, especially with players returning after injury or being away.

As Phil has said good luck to Gwinear on their fight to stay in the league.
