Tremough 4 Camborne Park 2 HT 2-1

The game was a good footballing game. The game started as an end to end affair when Camborne Park opened up the scoring when a ball forward was headed on by matthew trudgeon who found Peter Norfolk at the far post who headed past the keeper into the far post. Tremough then equalised when bad defending allowed tremough to cross the ball in from the right with the striker heading across goal into the far post. Tremough deserved to take the lead at half time when a long shot was badly defended and some how found the back of the net.

Tremough scored a third in the second half when there striker reacted quickly to parried header from a corner. They then pressed and pressed for a fourth, but we got back into the game when the ball came out to peter norfolk 20 yards out who struck a venomous strike past the keeper to make it 3-2. the bickering with the ref then cost us the fourth goal when the ref gave a free kick for arguing, which resulted in the fourth goal.

Anyway, good luck to tremough for next weeks title decider against truro and for the rest of the season.

Crowntown 2 Mpad 2

A very entertaining game with a result that looked totally unlikely until the last 10 minutes!

Crowntown played well within their comfort zone and was certainly in control of the game, but struggled to score.

Pidge in the Mpad goal, saved them time and again, massed players on the goal line repeatedly kept Crowntown from scoring, blocking shot after shot.

Eventually the deadlock was broken when Pidge dropped a tame shot for Jason Smeeth to take the ball past him and score. 1-0

Second half continued as the first. Pidge again making save after save to keep Crowntown out. Another mistake, unfortunately marred his performance as he let Jason Smeeth in for his second. 2-0

Crowntown in the driving seat, seemed to have the game won, creating several good chances. An amazing save by Pidge from a terrific shot by Will Bain kept it at 2-0.

Just when everyone had settled for the result (Crowntown were even talking about getting their first clean sheet since 2003!) when Darren Griffiths picked up a loose ball 20 yards out and hit it just under the bar, giving the Crowntown keeper, off his line, no real chance. A trademark Darren effort.

No panic Crowntown. (Well, not much). Then we saw one of the best own goals of this season. Scott Smeeth, facing his goal attempted to clear the ball for a corner and missed. Gently passed it into his own goal, just inside the post.

2 - 2. No complaints.

Grant Porterfield reffed and was decisive and effective.

Truro GWRSA 5 Penzance Astro Park 2 h/t 4-1

The match got off to an explosive start with two goals for Truro in the first 4 minutes and a booking for Penzance. It then settled down and Penzance gave as good as they got and pulled a goal back on the half hour with a good first time strike.Truro, however, surged away again before half time with two further goals.

Both teams created chances in the second half and a goal apiece was a fair reflection of 45 minutes of honest endeavour.

Top match next Sunday is Tremough v Truro GWRSA at Wendron which will probably decide the league championship.
