NORTH DEVON DWELLER
Does anyone know what the chances are of tomorrows game v Witheridge going ahead?
Guest The Judge aka RED OR DEAD
If you can actually get to St Blazey with the roads in the East of Cornwall being a bit dodgy at the moment, I'm sure that Mr Chairman will ensure the pitch is in good order. No real bad weather down St Austell/Newquay way since Monday night. A minutes silence or applause will no doubt be observed before kick off. DanBlazey
Just tiny bits of rain and snow here today, but nothing significant. I expect the game to be on, but will be keeping an eye on the excellent SWPL postponement forum in the morning. Looking forward to seeing you and your krazy gang at Blaise Park tomorrow, NDD. It's a bit of a fortress at the moment; we're unbeaten in 2009 :c:

NORTH DEVON DWELLER
Unfortunately due to the dreadful road conditions in North Devon still this morning even if the game goes ahead the supporters bus will not be making it's way to St Blazey today. :(
DanBlazey
Sorry to hear that - will the team be able to make it?! Thin coating of snow here overnight but I expect the game to be on if the Withy players can dig their way out!
NORTH DEVON DWELLER
I can not speak for the players or managment but as the driver of the supporters bus i am not willing to put people's lives at risk just to watch a game of football which has p***ed us off something chronic as everyone was looking forward to visiting Blaise Park. :(
DanBlazey
Ah you'll get through! Are you roads really still impassable in your parts?
NORTH DEVON DWELLER
Well my journey from Witheridge to Tiverton this morning took me nearly 45 minutes when usually you can do it in around 15 minutes and this is a main road. The route to St Blazey starts off with around 10 mile of narrow back roads which still have around a foot of snow and ice all over them.
DanBlazey
Surely the game must be in doubt in that case. It must give safety concerns for supporters, players and officials needing to travel.
DanBlazey
Look's like we're ON today!
DanBlazey
St Blazey 1-1 Witheridge. Att: 65ish (2 from Witheridge?) A fair result this as Withy shaded the first half, but St Blazey were stronger in the second. The Blazey boys will be disappointed to have not closed out the match after deservedly getting ahead through a fantastic Danny Zalick goal. They conceded a soft goal soon afterwards and Witheridge resisted the late Blazey pressure to hold on for a draw.
NORTH DEVON DWELLER
From what i have been told about the match your brief review was a fair reflection dan. It's just a shame we counldn;t make it down to see it. look forward to giving a warm welcome at Edge Down Paark later in the season :D
AJW
65?? I know the weather has been bad but I've seen more than that at a few Duchy League games this season.
DanBlazey
The official figure could be even lower than that!
