Mike Odgers
Just had a look on the 5 day weather forecast for Mid Cornwall and there is a rain symbol every day. So it looks unlikely I will be at Bodieve Park on Saturday
Mike Odgers
Tuesday 3rd.Feb. Bodieve Park is snowbound and the Throgmorton cup tie is switched to Kimberley Stadium ,Saltash.

Mike Odgers
Although the tie is the 7th. postponement at Bodieve Park the British record is a Scottish Cup match between Airdrie and Stranraer. It was set for Jan.12th 1963 but not played until March 9th at the 34th attempt. During that winter it took Coventry City and Lincoln City to complete their FA Cup tie at the 16th. time of asking. baldy
That winter (1963) matches were postponed before they were rescheduled!
Stuart Dudley
Back in those days the games were postponed on the night, not 24 or 48 hrs before Luckily Duncan, we live in a much more forward thinking age where people's time does not get wasted turning up when there is no chance of any play, I think it's called improved communication and common sense... :c:
DanBlazey
I know I've had a lot to say about this fixture and the league's approach to it, but surely common sense would call this game off tonight. With freezing temperatures forecast tonight and driving conditions downright dangerous (particularly for Wadebridge officials, players and fans), could safety be compromised in a desperate bid to get this game played? I see an inspection is planned at 1530
Mike Odgers
Good point Dan-although the pitch may be perfectly in order to safely play the travel of officials, players and fans would be a concern. Especially on the return as there has just been a weather warning regarding temperatures dropping dramatically tonight.
Richard Chown
Link WITH Bodieve Park deemed unfit for tonight's third round Throgmorton League Cup game, the tie between Wadebridge Town and Saltash United has been switched to Kimberley Stadium, Saltash (7.30). Bodieve Park had again been a casualty of the wet weather on Saturday, with the scheduled league game against Falmouth postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. Guest Peppermint
Yes Mike - just noticed the postponement on the League Forum. Just a thought will Saltash United being getting criticism regarding the state of their pitch the same as Wadebridge Town seemed to get unfairly!!!!!!! Before anyone jumps down my throat - it was a tongue in cheek remark and nobody including football clubs can help this dreadful weather.

Mike Odgers
Tuesday February 10th. Wadebridge v Saltash OFF again-optimistic with the weather forecast for Thursday to try again. With either Bodieve and Kimberley allowed to stage the game I make the postponement count 11.
motherwontletmegoargyle
Think it will beat the record, between Airdrie and Stranraer busy setting a British record of 33 postponements in 1963?
