Guest Peppermint
I understand that Cornwall won 2-0. Orrin Crowle from Newquay scored one of the goals. Well done to Tommy Matthews and his team.
David Bray
Dorset 0 Cornwall 2. [h/t 0 - 2 ] Goals from Ollie Brokenshire on 20 mins and Orin Crowle 33 mins. Cornwall outplayed their hosts and but for some stout defending the Duchy lads could have doubled their scoreline. More comprehensive report later. :c:
David Bray
Excellent and comprehensive win for the Duchy lads. Sublime finish by St.Austell's Ollie Brokenshire on 20 mins following excellent buildup by David Blizzard and skipper Josh Kemp. Newquay's Orrin Crowle got the second on 33 mins showing excellent skill inside the opponents penalty area and chipping the Dorset keeper. More goals could have come in the second half but the Dorset defence stood firm. County Manager Tommy Matthews and goalkeeper Richard Pennington will both be pleased with obtaining a clean sheet from the game. Cornwall team..Richard Pennington, David Blizzard, Kieran Connibear, Josh Kemp, Mamsy Sabo, Liam Sandercock, Neil Slateford, Bradley Wills, Orin Crowle, Billy Hopcroft, Ollie Brokenshire, Aaron Bicknell, Ollie Gibson, Liam Nicholls. :c:
Grant
Good to see a number of our east cornwall players progressing into the u18 team. A good result for the county, well done to those involved. What was the starting line up?
Guest Peppermint
Thanks for the report David on a great win - sorry to steal your thunder and put the result on earlier. Great to see two Newquay lads in the team and well done to Orrin Crowle in scoring on his debut.

Tommy Matthews
Yesterday's side. Pennington Blizzard, Sabo, Sandercock, Connebear Slateford, Wills, Kemp, Brokenshire Hopcroft, Crowle Bicknell, Nicholls, Gibson Lost Josh Kemp through ankle injury early in the first half which was a blow as he was running the game but we seemed to have plenty in reserve yesterday with lots of fluency throughout the side. Players able to swap positions without any obvious loss to the shape. Two excellent goals and a clean sheet. All subs came on and made a big contribution to the overall performance. Thanks for your good wishes. Tommy
Dave Deacon
Any idea where that leaves you group postion wise Tommy?
Tommy Matthews
I'm likely to be wrong, Dave but I think that currently makes us top with 4 points from 2 games. We've still got Guernsey home and Wiltshire away which will both be difficult games. Guernsey with a small population, don't have as many players to select from, but they'll probably get together every week like Jersey, so don't think they'll be some kind of pushover. Wiltshire are always difficult, but we played really well yesterday and under the circumstances with players out of the squad, conditions and injuries etc, it was as satisfying a game as I've seen us play this season. David Bray
The South West Counties do have their own web site. For all results and league tables go to.... www.footballmitoo insert ' south west counties football championship' into the search you can then call up season 2008/09 together with league table and group 'a' results. :c:
