Mike Odgers Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 With the demise of Newton Abbot and Goonhavern leaving the- SWPL Premier with 19 clubs-Div.1 West with 17 and Div.1East 18 clubs Are there any clubs considering promotion to the League? Admittedly the closing application date is not until 1st.Feb.09 (based on last season) but the 6 feeder leagues are now beginning to take shape. JCCL- Perranporth,Perranwell and Illogan RBL ECPL-Apart from St.Stephen in third place the top six are all unacceptable Reserve sides Devon And Exeter L.-St.Martins leading and did show an interest last year. North Devon-Ilfracombe Town Reserves-clubs have previously not shown interest because of geography. South Devon-Upton Athletic and Brixham United (A top club of years ago) Plymouth and West Devon L- Roborough? Mount Gould? -Have clubs in this league the required facilities? I have heard Perranporth have ambition Has anyone with unofficial viewpoints on clubs that may show interest?
Pete Tully Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Would guess that perranporth will definately want to go up with the current set up they have. All depends on what the leagues announces with regards to relegation/promotion in light of the teams pulling out i suppose.
The Professor Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 I would think that its pretty nailed on that Perranporth would apply to join Div 1 West. Some of the players there would still do a job in Peninsula Premier so would be more than competitive in Div 1 West. Plus they have the financial clout to add to the current squad (or so I hear).
