pete dillon Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 After running both Bodmin and Penzance very close in recent encounters Dobwalls were in the end a well beaten side on this occasion.....true the game was turned dramatically against the home side in a 12min spell between the 58th and 70th minutes when first Bartlett was sent off for a second yellow then a speculative effort from Brown was pushed onto the bar and into the net by Glassup who really should have done better - to be followed by Hake missing a good chance at the other end straight after - Lawrence and Robertson also hit the woodwork for the visitors before Bradd outstanding at the back and also very good at set pieces made sure for Porthleven with a third goal on 79 mins.....Lawrence had missed a sitter in the first minute for Port but within 60secs Robertson had headed the visitors in front when he was left completely unmarked at the far post from a free- kick...... Dobwalls fought back and created some good openings without looking entirely convincing but did manage to draw level right on half time when Dan Tapper scored from the spot after Bradd had fouled Steve Tapper However a well deserved victory for Porthleven and although Bradd won man of the match - Thirkle also had an outstanding game and was a constant menace on the left flank although he was given a fair degree of freedom by the home side in what was a somewhat disjointed performance even allowing for the undoubted class of the visitors.

pete dillon Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 HOME TO PLYMSTOCK UNITED 2.15 KO IN THE CSWPL DIV ONE WEST GOONER.
The Gooner Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Thanks Pete What are Plymstock like as a team? May try to get there if I finish work early enough.
pete dillon Posted November 14, 2008 Author Report Posted November 14, 2008 Don't know much about them Gooner it is probably the first time the two clubs have met in a competitive match - Plymstock were in the CSWPL Div One East last season and did very well I think - should be a good game and as usually is the case at this level probably close and Dobwalls will need to do better with regards to taking some of the many chances we create every week if we are to get a result!!!!
