Media witchhunt ?

Recommended Posts

I know this topic may be a bit boring to some, but it seems everyone loves having a pop at Spurs, this

present moment. It is one rumour, after another.Im sure most of it is pure rubbish.

Have a look at this little lot, over the last week.

RAMOS;Only 6 games left,to lift Spurs.?

POYET; Constantly linked with Wise at Newcastle.

COMMOLI;Getting sacked[Hooray].To be replaced by Venebles.

PAVLYUCHENKO;Cant play with Bent, and is homesick.

BENT;Going to Sunderland.Negredo from Almeria in.

LENNON;Newcastle or A.Villa.

BENTLEY;Liverpool.

MODRIC;Juventus.

BALE.Liverpool.

Out of that list of garbage Press, there is only one possible bit of truth.Commoli getting sacked.

How can they get away with it?

Just disrupts our club even more.Disgraceful.

this is what makes me laugh so much :D

you've posted numerous topics and on other threads about stuff you have read in the tabloids and take it as gospel but when it involves your club its all blatant lies :D

If you don't like it don't read it and stick to the more sensible newspapers or websites, as the majority of stuff tabloids publish is made up junk.

The witch-hunt IS going on and the press LOVE to take a swipe at Spurs. EVERY day there is some bulls**t being made up and then on top of that there's the fact that the press build us up each pre-season (YES the press do it, NOT the supporters), just so that they can have laugh at our expense.

You only have to take into account the recent bias or quickness to laugh at Spurs after our defeat at the hands of Hull.. Arsenal lose against Hull after being pretty much outplayed for the entire game the week before and the headline's were "Hull in shock victory at Emirates" OR "Superb Hull inflict surprise defeat on Arsenal".

Then the following week Spurs lose to a moment of sheer brilliance by Geovanni after more than matching Hull and what headlines do we get.. "Spurs humiliation continues after defeat by promoted Hull", "Tigers dig claws into sinking Spurs", "Spurs have a Hull of alot to do now"..

Crosser, I know what you're saying mate but the proof is there on a daily basis. FACT. :(

Sorry mate don't agree with you on that one if arsenal were bottom of the league then they would have had the same sort of headlines, Nobody expected Hull to beat arsenal hence the

Shock victory
and the
Superb Hull
agrees with your outplayed tag

However everybody expected Hull to beat spurs, even you said your self hull can do the north london double, and you got to admit every single headline you have got from a tabloid sums up what is happening to spurs at the moment, are spurs humiliated? i think the answer is yes to that one, are spurs sinking? probably a bit early to be asking that but yes is probably the answer again and do you have a hull of a lot to do? yes is the answer again.

You spurs supporters are just being over sensitive again your at the bottom of the league your ex manager who was harshly treated is riding high in the bundesliga what did you expect a slap on the back :P

Crosser,I can see your point of view.I try to put on these threads, what I think will happen.

I said before,I thought W.Ham,with the payout to Sheff.Utd,were heading for financial problems, and you

could be offloading players in January.Since then W.Ham's owner has said there is no money for

investment. In fact he is looking for a buyer for about £100million.Which I think would be a bargain for

someone.

The media said Robbie Keane was the final piece of the jigsaw for Liverpool to win the League, and that

Torres +Keane would terriorise Premier League defences. My question was ,is Keane worth £20m,and

said Liverpool would not win the league.Keane so far,no premier league goals, and just 1 in Europe.?

Another point was £50m for Berbatov+Keane was good financial buisness.I still beleive that is the case.

I will admit we are missing them at the moment.

Another thing I may have got wrong was Spurs to finish above W.Ham.Not so sure now.

You must expect me to be slightly biased towards my team.

I will admit, when Im wrong.Except when the other half of North London are involved.

"Blue" yes because of the team...CHELSEA been supporting/following them for 35+ years through good and bad times

Damn it :angry2: , I was hoping it would be the "blue" of Birmingham. Then I could say that I was looking forward to playing against you next season :( ...

Never mind, I'll just have to think about last years cup final defeat and also about where one point of our pathetic two point haul thus far this season has come from ;)

I would have been playing in that game bud BUT can I remember it :rolleyes::drink: .. I've slept since then mate and scored from a fair few corners myself, 2 in one game the one day and there was no wind ;) .. I'm guessing you scored that first goal that you ask about?? :P

That must have been somewhere around the time that we won the league??. Can't even remember how long ago that was  .. I do love the club though, honest

no i did not score it but it was down to me, i stood as to take the corner touched the ball and the ran into box our center forward walked over to ball, it seemed to take corner then because i had touched ball he just ran into box and scored, its an old one now but at the time was not, and was first time we had scored from it.

was a good game if i remember us defending for the most of it and we all had a good few beers after

Holy sh*t, I remember that as if it was yesterday. That was the 1st time any of us had seen that and we were in uproar at the time because we just thought you'd put the ball down and then the guy came across to take the corner. We still argue to this day that the ball didn't make a complete turn or go outside the corner area. YOU BAS***D. :clapper: .. You got us a beauty there. :c: ..

It was a good game and played in good spirit and you were one of those proper clubs that all stayed behind for a drink and a spot of socialising afterwards.

if you remember they changed the rule around that time and the ball only had to move the slightest bit not a full turn or go out the box, all i did was tell ref before game so he did not get mixed up, it was funny because i think yr centre back dived and palmed it into net in the confusion

NO IT WASN'T BLOODY FUNNY :clapper: .. I do remember somebody (maybe the ref?) saying on the day that the rules had changed but none of us had a damn clue and boy did we suffer because of it. If only I could have been a fly on the wall when you had that chat with the ref before the game :(

A good manager will learn from a teams first encounter with a club and makes sure it doesn't happen next time around. in the case of Tottenham Hotspur it would be pointless to remove the manager because he has a proven track record. Unfortunately football clubs are now run by people who know nothing about the game and make knee jerk reactions.

Spurs were by far the better team against Hull as were Arsenal. But good on Hull they stuck to their task and amazingly beat both. Spurs are far better than their current position suggests.

I wouldnt mind betting come the end of the season Spurs will finish well above Hull and Hull will most probably be in relegation trouble. Not fantasy football just common sense.

As far as the press is concerned they have to sell papers The bigger the negative headline the better the sales. It's like saying Man Utd drawing with Hull, ended up with 9 players on the pitch and the headlines would be - 'is this the end of ferguson'.

Anyone who knows football knows that a clubs position is decided in the latter half of the season, not the first half. Yes teams who come up are at the greatest risk and if they are in the bottom half of the league in the first half then they rarely get out of trouble.
