Vospers Oak Villa 1 Newquay 5

Recommended Posts

Newquay continued with their recent good results and unbeaten away record with this convincing win. As early as the 5th minute Newquay showed their intent when a pin point free kick from Paul Hampshire was headed in powerfully by Shaun Middleton only for the linesman to rule the goal offside. Middleton was not going to be denied and 10 minutes later he fired in at the near post. Middleton scored again with a header from a superb Jake Hartigan corner. Another Hartigan cross was converted at the far post by Scott Palmer to continue his good run of scoring. Vospers young side contiuned to work hard in the second half but without really threatening the Newquay goal. Half way through the second half a flowing move ended with Luke Weldhen firing in at the far post. Vospers were reward for their hard work when their forward converted after the linesman has initially flagged for offside and then chnged his mind. Skipper Middleton missed a gilt edged chance for his hat trick but shot wide. However shortly before the end unselfish play by assistant manager Lee Hawkey on as a sub saw him set up Middleton for his second hat trick in four games.
