Mike Odgers
04/10/2008 Newton Spurs 1 - 2 Falmouth Richard Kellow makes his debut in goal as Stuart Peters bags a brace Goal scorers Matt Drummond 77min after being set up by Adam Trudgian/ Glen Squires 82min volleyed home a deep cross from Sam Hunter. The Spurs replied in the 85th min from Captain Dave Pooley Richard Kellow(the second team defender) had a great game in goal on his debut pulling off two wonder saves-tipping over the crossbar. He was versatile in his area and made the sensible options in very difficult conditions of swirling wind and rain. The third keeper in as many games. Stuart Peters made an important save on the goal line, coming in from an angle and heading a cross from under the bar and preventing Newton from taking the lead. Paul
St Blazey could have been 5th if they held on to their 2-0 leads today and on wednesday night. Instead were down with the dreggs!! A long hard season if they continue to throw away points like this. At 2-0 up today, Torpoint pulled a goal back right on half time which shouldnt have been allowed so im told? Anyone else see it? Another point....How on earth have Torpoint ended up playing 5 more games in the league then St Blazey? Yes St Blazey played 1 fa cup and 1 fa vase but its stupid having teams so far ahead in terms of fixtures. Makes the league table a non event with so much for some to play just to even things up. Lack of mid week football this season dosnt help. Dont think ive known a season with so little football during the week.
patch
i can confirm that cris "asda man" symons underwent intensive keyhole surgery on thursday morning which revealed nothing more than a ligament strain, also heard that richard kellow is now suffering from the same injury after carrying symons pay packet home

gary
Hi Paul, first of all may I say there was nothing wrong with any of the Torpoint goals it was just that on the day your keeper had a mayor and gave us a couple of goals.

Seagull
Mousehole 1. Godolphin 4. H/T 1.3 Scorers for Godolphin. P Lowry, D O Callaghan 2, D Moore. Sorry dont know the Mousehole scorer i wasnt at the game. Mousehole scorer Barrie Prowse First viewing of Godolphin and i was very impressed. We were under-strength which has unfortunately been the story of our season so far. No doubt in my mind that Godolphin are capable of a top 6 finish this season. Well organised and talented side. Mike Odgers
Newton Abbot Spurs 1 Falmouth Town 2 This win ended a run of 5 consecutive League defeats.(worst start to a season) The worst ever (1950-2008) Falmouth run of league defeats was in April/May 2003 when they recorded 7 games (P 7.L 7.GF 5 GA 20). The SWPL(P) record for consecutive league defeats (home/Away) is held by Buckland Athletic with 8 consecutive losses. I know its all relevent but sometimes the last thing anyone needs to be reminded of is how badly we are doing!!! Anyway, the run of losses has been broken and positivity should be within us all !
