jollyman
Ludgvan 1 v Newquay 2 Ludgvan opened the scoring with a clear penalty and nicely taken kick. Newquay went in 2 v1 up following goals from Dave Rabone and a Scotty Palmer 30 yard free kick. In truth, a dominant display from Newquay who spurned many chances. A frustrating afternoon for the peppermints who couldnt get out of 2nd gear and laboured in the hot sun...frustration showing with some colourful language from the Newuqay players who were rightly booked and they didnt really celebrate either goal. Ludgvan never gave up. Attendence 30ish. difficult to say because couldnt see how many sun bathers were watching from the excellent bar side balcony. Good game ref. GET WELL SOON Mitch ! Missing today with a burst apendix. Wishing you a speedy recovery from all the lads.

SpongeBobSafeHands
St Day 0-0 Illogan rbl the game kicked off in glorious sunshine with both sides looking to keep up their psomising starts to the season. St Day were forced to make changes to their side due to several players taking late holidays, (we hoped in vein that they had booked them with XL but to no avail as one sent me a text wishing the side good luck for the day) 6 in total. however the strength in depth and the addition of some new faces (andy dyer) and some old faces (danny watts) and some really old faces (darren buckley) meant that we were able to feild a strong side against a strong illogan team. illogan started the game the brighter and pushed st day onto the back foot as they looked to get an early breakthrough, it nearly came inside the first ten minutes when andy cowper beat the offside trap and tried to lift the ball over the advancing keeper who saved well. St Day were forced to make a change on the half hour mark when adrian hart pulled up with a reccuring thigh injury that has seen him miss the last two games. both sides continued to battle for possesion throughout the half but with both sides creating half chances. HT 0-0 In the second half it was a game of to-me-to-you as both sides gave possesion away too cheaply. as smithy said in his comments the game could have gone either way at the end but i felt on the whole a draw was a fair result. man of the match for St Day went to Simon Horner who has stepped up from the 2nd team and played exceptionally well so well done to him. Ref Watch: Not a bad performance from the ref although i did feel at times he confused both sides by not communicating with them, telling them what he had given (free-kick, throw-in, drop-ball). i spoke to him at half time, pionting this out and in the second half he was much better so good on him. 8/10 (my opinion only) crowd as smithy said: 40-45. next week St Day are celebrating their 60th anniversary and were supposed to be entertaining Bodmin town on saturday in a friendly, however this game has now been changed to Sunday due to bodmin doing so well in the f.a.cup. All are welcome to come down and celebrate with us.

cornishteddyboy
Did anyone notice that there were 30 goals scored in the league yesterday and they were all scored by individual players! The 0-0 draw between St Day and Illogan was the first of the season. There were another 4 draws yesterday. In the last 2 Saturdays plus the midweek games there have been 9 draws from 23 games, previous to that the were 6 draws in 52 games. Are the teams getting the measure of each other? There have been 33 home wins 15 draws 27 away wins 317 goals scored
