Falmouth Town 3, St Day 1 (H/T 2-0)

Referee: Kevin Knowles

Attendance: 35

1-0 - 27m Steve Kellow (technically an OG - St Day's no 1?)

2-0 - 38m Brett Southeard

2-1 - 49m

3-1 - 78m Ryan Harris

Town: M. Rose, A. Clode, W. Hewitt, D. Rawlings, R. Kellow, L. Appleton, S. Peters, S. Winnan, S. Kellow, B. Southeard, R. Harris. Subs (used): C. Andrew and B. Wheeler. Unused: J. Parker, W. Herrington and D. Friend.

Falmouth played well and when keeper Marc Rose went off injured in the first quarter of an hour, Richard Kellow donned the gloves and had an exceptional game!

Newquay 2 - Penzance 2 (HT 1 - 2 )

This game never really got going until the 21st minute when Penzance took the lead. The Newquay goalkeeper made an error by not coming for a through ball earlier and was left stranded in no mans land leaving the Penzance player an easy strike on goal.

After 31 minutes Newquay equalised with their 1st worthwhile effort on goal, a superb strike from 25 yards that left the Penzance goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

The lead however did not last for more than 2 minutes. After a goal mouth scramble that wouldn’t have looked out of place on a pinball table a strike into the top left corner put Penzance 2- 1 up (Newquays goalie did make a couple of decent saves during this scramble).

Shortly after the break Newquay equalised a shot from Scott Palmer was saved by Penzance’s goalkeeper but lead to an easy tap in for a Newquay player.

Newquay seemed the more likely to score a winner after this but towards the end Penzance could have snatched a winner

good result for Falmouth got to agree with posti pidge richard kellow was outstanding in goa last night, i think bryn should play him there all the time save after save he kept making. Saying that the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested and st day had chances at 2-1 to draw level but a mistake at the back let in falmouth to score the winner and put the game out of reach for st day.

Well done falmouth and good luck for the rest of the season especially you Bryn nice seeing you again.

The one man vendetta against Newquay waged by Local_boy continues!

Both teams last night played First Team squad players who have been sitting on the bench for the CSWPL teams to give them a game. That is why clubs run Reserve teams - is that not correct?

Lee Bradd scored the only goal of the Porthleven v Mousehole match last night.

Did not take him long to end his connection with Penzance and he was supposed to go there to win trophies!

It seems that Lee is attempting some sort record for the most clubs played for in a season.

It would be interesting to know why he only spent a couple of weeks at Penzance.

I dont get why people complain that reserve teams play 1st teamers if clubs have the option why not do it? Why should a club worry about another club look after number 1 get the points that are available.
