The Gooner
Dobwalls played the better football but a number off missed chances could have cost them the game. They went behind when a defender conceded a penalty. Goals from Barry Crane and Martin Hake gave the visitors the three points. Vospers played route one football for most of the game and came close on a couple of occasions. The pitch was not up to senior football standard, the grass was long and made it difficult for both sides to play flowing football. Am I right to assume that it is a council owned pitch and that the club do not have any control over the ground work? The general facilities around the pitch do not appear to meet the Peninsula league standard. Will the league enforce the required improvements? Mike Sampson was at the game so hopefully he will pass his views on to the powers that be.
Gareth Rowett
I am sure Mr Mewton will hope that it gets cleared up before his side's trip there on Saturday.
Guest
Popped in to Dobwalls v Truro on Saturday. Grass pretty long although well cut, but very straw like. Nice to see the new goalposts and the big net behind the top goal for those often wayward shots. No sign of the new stand though. Is that put on hold. oh and Vospers pitch is pretty flat just a very slight slope. Pleyrs at both grounds have to walk over open ground to the changing rooms although Vospers is a long way away.
