Paul
St Blazey 3 v 1 Elburton. A good display from St Blazey who looked in control for long periods of this game. Although 1 up at half time, Elburton should have made it 1-1 but from a good position the finish was woeful. They did make it 1-1 at the start of the second half when they were awarded a penalty out of nothing when a ball was to be controlled under no pressure but hit the arm and a penalty given. After that St Blazey pushed forward and sealed the win with 2 well taken goals. A note on th crowd....or lack of it!! I counted 96 watching which is just rubbish. Elburton had barly a car load of fans which is very sad to see. makes you miss the like of Newquay and Penzance and Porthlevan to boost the crowds. Another point.....the fixtures seem very odd. How can teams have 3 home games in a row? Some teams will finish the season with 3 away games. Dosnt seem to fair or practical as thats little income for around a month with no first team fixture. Anyway.....good start for St Blazey. Next up Clyst Rovers at home. A good win will set us up nicly for harder fixtures in the weeks and months ahead. Guest ajlongcallington
Callington Town 3 Porthleven 3 Att : 51 A great spectacle that had everything!! Goalscorers for Callington, Gareth Jones, Mike Norman and Ryan Lucassi Have to agree on the strange fixture list - had we played last Saturday we would have had three at home to start the season - and also the lack of fans - although on bank holiday weekend, with the cricket still on and Callington chasing the championship we were not all that surprised. A good fightback for the Town having gone 3-1 down and in the end, we might have sneaked all three points in the final minute of injury time. All in all a good start to the season for Micky and the guys - with a good test at Penryn on Saturday.
