Common Tater
The Tony Kempster site shows Truro's gate for Hallen was bigger than for the Frome game. I was in Cornwall both weekends and managed to get to both games and I could have sworn there was a smaller crowd yesterday than the Saturday before. Guest
Could well have been a lot of freebies for the Frome match They still have to be counted
Guest Gloworm
Attendance for Truro V Frome was 321 Attendance for Truro V Hallen was 387 I have heard stories that sometimes the club add a few more on to the attendance to make it look more impressive, although I've never believed a word of it. On the day of the Frome game, the second highest crowd in the Western league was 157 for Bideford V Bitton, and the second highest Western League crowd on the day of the Hallen game was 138 for Ilfracombe V Frome. A clear difference between the crowds on both weekends. Congratulations to Truro for having the highest average attendance in the Western League this season. I hope they can keep these attendances up next season in the Southern League.
Graham Martin
I think the attendances will increase again next season with Southern League football being played in Cornwall for the 1st time.
Tom Trust
I would certainly expect the gates to go up next season. Whether or not this would be at the expense of other Cornish clubs remains to be seen. It will be interesting to see how the attendances of the Peninsular League clubs in West Cornwall hold up compared to this season. I will certainly be watching Truro in the Southern League. I don't seem to have any other calls on my Saturday afternoons any more! How well Truro's gates increase will depend on how they do. If they scrape along at the bottom of the table they'll get fewer in than this season! However, if they make the right signings and push for yet another promotion, crowds should regularly exceed 500. St Darren
Nope!!!! However, if I'm not doing anything and they're playing one of the better sides in the league, then I might trundle along to see how good they are. Also depends on the entry price, does the Southern league have a standard entry fee?
Pablo
I think it's mostly around a tenner, St D. I'm definately gonna try end get to the Godalming game. Godalming is about 20 miles from me.
Deano11
a tenner does that come with free hotdog :D
Pablo
Nope, I'm well wrong. Godalming Town charged £7 per head for the season just gone. I was going ny my nearest club, Horsham. They charged £8 for a Ryman's Premier League game. Horsham averaged around 500 per home game, not bad at all but their cup rn must have helped. Horsham is maybe about twice the size of Truro; population wise.
St Darren
shit, just got up off the floor!!! If it was a tenner a game, then Truro's crowd would be less than anticipated. A couple more leagues to go before the football is worthy of a tenner.
Paul
I think thats a little steep but whats a tenner for an afternoon out. Paulton Rovers is a nice club with a very tidy ground plus you can make plenty of noise there. Been there with St Blazey and a ground id go to anytime.
