Mandy K Aggiemaid Posted April 28, 2008 Report Share Posted April 28, 2008 St Breward Ladies 0 V St Agnes Ladies 2 St Agnes Ladies travelled to St Breward on Sunday for their last league fixture of the season knowing they needed a win to consolidate their position in Division 2 of The Jaipur Cornwall Womens Football League. Having been promoted to Division 2 this season the aim was to stay up! The match started with St Breward competing strongly for every ball but rarely challenging the St Agnes net. The St Breward goalkeeper pulled off some outstanding saves as St Agnes began to pressure the St Breward goal, playing down hill for the first half St Agnes capitalized on the advantage when Emily Wade broke away and smashed the ball from a great angle into the far corner of the net. The score at half time 1-0 to St Agnes. Playing uphill in the second half St Agnes continued to pressure and Emily Wade showed why she is the St Agnes top goal scorer this season as she beat a defender and powered the ball into the goal. The final score St Breward 0 St Agnes 2. Team Manager Mandy Kimmins was thrilled with the whole teams overall performance with every player putting in a great effort and the after match celebrations continued in the same vein!
