Ken Selwood RIP aged 81

I dont remember seeing it posted on here but many of us will remember Ken Selwood as one of the major stalwarts of the Mining Division committee

Ken served the Mining division in many posts - the last one I remember is that of the players registration secretary.

Ken also refereed and always applied a lot of common sense to his refereeing as well as an excellent understanding of the game.

My best wishes go out to his family and friends

Would Ken had been involved with the Carn Brea 5-a-side league years ago?

Indeed Steve. My sympathies and the wishes of Gulval AFC are with Ken's family at this time.

If my ageing memory serves me correctly I think Ken was the original secretary of the Carn Brea 5 a side league.

In those days the officers of the league used to participate on league nights and act as timekeeper etc.

The committee was principally made up of those who ran the Mining league.

back in the 80's when i was secretary of holmans use to enjoy walking down to kens house at barncoose to hand in the team sheet and have a chat about the results. nice man my condolences to his family :c:
