cornishteddyboy
No I didn't go as I was stuck outside Truro College from 7-9pm where my eldest is doing nightime lessons learning Arabic! Sounds like I saved myself £4 though. Even though people moaned about Mr Quinn in the side since he has been gone Penzance have gone down the pan. Only a couple of wins in 4 months. whuru
PENZANCE 2 GOONHAVERN 3 following on from saturdays win Goonhavern made a bright start at a sunny penlee park with Josh Mitchell blazing over from 8 yards and than having a goal disallowed for a marginal offside,at the other end Paul Cox shot wide as did "Disco Stu" reynolds. On 20 minutes Craig Barclays through ball allowed Paul Robertson to blast a 25 yarder past Craig Nicholls in the home goal. Nicholls then saved brilliantly from Mitchell and Kevin Tonkin as the visitors pile on the pressure. on 30 minutes Nick Pugliese's ball into the area was missed by Tonkin & Barclay and "Disco" equalised. Just before half time Robertson's corner was buried into the net by Tonkin to put the Gooners 2-1 up. Right on 45 Robertson was tripped in the box but Ref Ian Roberts wavied it away. (Roberts, and his assistants Simon Way & Simon Berryman had excellent games) The 2nd period was only 2 minutes old when Mitchell was once again denied by Nicholls and Woodrow saved well from Cox & Burt. on the hour Ross Maynard threaded the ball through to Robertson who rounded Nicholls and slotted home for 3-1. Mitchell then shot wide again when well placed and Robertson was just off target with a lob. with 15 minutes left Pugliese took a free kick out on the left and bent it in going in off woodrow's outstretched hands 2-3. The home side then go a head of steam up but with Simon Robinson marshalling the back lie the visitors held out for a deserved if not surprising 3 points. Amazing what a sense of injustice does for a team. Penzance: Nicholls, Greet, Grenfell Street, Holsey, Micheal, Pugliese, Burt, Reynolds, Bullock, Cox Subs: Turner, Norman, Podd, Liddicoat Goonhavern: Woodrow, Barber, Barclay, Tonkin, Robinson, Maynard, Moustrides Blatch, Robertson, Capeling, Mitchell (Josh) Subs: Luff, Counter, Bevan, Mitchell (John) Att: about 70 'ish
