Thank you! Very thrilled with the result today! Thank you Anita for your line running as always!

St Agnes Ladies 1 V Falmouth Ladies 1

St Agnes Ladies hosted Div 2 leaders Falmouth and its fair to say both sides expected the result to be a Falmouth convincing victory as Falmouth are unbeaten this season and only once been held to a draw - their previous meeting seeing Falmouth dominate to a 5-1 victory.

St Agnes started bravely - battling for everything as a team with club pride in mind! The first 20 minutes saw Falmouth with most possession of the ball and many chances on the St Agnes goal but some good keeping from St Agnes keeper Emma Kent and some strong defending kept them at bay!

St Agnes settled into into the game and were thrilled to find their efforts rewarded when Anita Adams blasted home a shot low and hard across the keeper into the Falmouth net!

The score at half time St Agnes 1 Falmouth 0.

St Agnes knew that Falmouth would be out after half time determined to save their unbeaten record for the season and the pressure was on straight from the whistle. Falmouth pushed 3 on up front but St Agnes defended well to keep them at bay.

Falmouth were awarded a penalty for handball in the area - Ayeisha Dyer stepped up and struck well but was thwarted by Emma Kent who was solid in the St Agnes goal - St Agnes were horrified though when ref Simon Harris blew the whistle for the penalty to be retaken owing to an encroachment in the area! Aiysha Dyer stepped up again and powered her shot at Emma Kent only to be saved again!

St Agnes continued to hold Falmouth at bay until 4 minutes from the final whistle when after numerous efforts Ayeisha Dyer struck over the St Agnes keeper into the net - the final score 1-1.

St Agnes manager Mandy Kimmins and coach Martyn Kimmins were thrilled with the effort and determination of the entire St Agnes squad who had frustrated a really good Falmouth side - if anyone had asked before the game if St Agnes would have settled for a draw they would've snapped up the opportunity as it was clearly expected for Falmouth to overpower them - as it was St Agnes were almost disappointed not to have take all 3 points which were theirs until 4 minutes from the final whistle!
