Pablo
Truro are pasted all over the front page and no-one on their forum even knew. They have items on two or three other pages + their results and league table. That's four or five pages in total.
Dave Deacon
And not all to do with themselves! How can some of the Southern League clubs be complaining about travelling to Truro once, possibly twice, next season. I liked the reply from the chairman of the league - if they don't like it, I'm sure they can find another league!
Pablo
The chairman was spot on, DD. I'm just mystified as to why so many hundreds of avid non-league football fans don't read an excellant non-league football news-paper featuring their very own club. It's completely baffling and moreover; a puzzle. Some, no many, of the Truro forum posters seem to be in some version of 'I've got more posts than you' but their interest seems rather shallow. Their favoured club is featured in at least one nationally distributed news-paper and they have absolutely no idea.
Dave Deacon
Perhaps it's because they have other things to distract them and be worried about! But thinking about it a little more - a lot of them probably aren't too concern about the bigger picture of non-league football and therefore wouldn't look at anything further afield than the West Briton. Guest crosser
i've got to agree with dave, ok I'm a torpoint supporter and I'd be surprised if we ever feature in the NL, if you are really into the non-league scene or live out of the area you would probably buy it. But if your local anything interesting is generally covered in the local press. on a side note whatever happened to the westcountry non league mag wasn't ross ??? his surnames slipped my mind behind it??? Pablo
Fair dos, Crosser but it sort of makes it pointless to print anything about the biggest football club in Cornwall, if the club's fans aren't interested. There is an item about Heaney in today's paper but it does seem the forum users would rather believe their own rumours than those published. The NLP wasted it's time and effort it seems. Personally I think the NLP is a great source of info' and although it is a tad expensive at £1.40 worth the price. It gives non-league football news to those interested in non-league football. Guest TruroLad
its a great paper and i regularly pay £1.40 for it, its a fair price aswell i think considering all the research and time that is put into it. most of the truro fans dont give two dog poo's about non league football other than their own club or teams in the same competitions which is very narrow minded and sad. Xembla
Truro are pasted all over the front page and no-one on their forum even knew. I suppose that depends on what you mean by "on" the forum, or "knew" -- since BinBodmin (who is certainly "on" the forum) did post something about it yesterday, and as it turns out, several others (HM/HB, for instance) "knew" what it said. So did I, for that matter -- I've had the electronic subscription since August and have periodically posted bits from it. I discovered, however, that many of the forum users already knew/had seen what I was posting, and as it involved capturing a screen shot, cropping, uploading to the photo site, etc, I'd stopped doing that. Non-league football is quite interesting, and despite what some naysayers want to believe about the "prawn sarny glory-hunting brigade" many of the City supportes do care about what happens outside the screen door. And wait -- it is somehow an indictment of the Supporters that this specific source might have been (but wasn't) overlooked? Puh-leez!
