Awful news about major! Hopefully they’ll be back in the future a great club with a good set up

how many more side are we going to see go this year? 3-4 so far have withdrawn from the league it’s looking awful for Cornish football

Grampound 1-3 Newquay Thirds

As we expected, this was a really closely fought match that was played in good but fierce spirits. Grampound, as we know, are a good side and that showed today. But the boys dug deep and put in a different kind of performance to secure the three points.

At 0-0, the fantastic Harry Willmott between the sticks made two fantastic one on one saves to keep us in the game.

We then won a free kick about 40 yards out. Morgan delivered a beautiful ball to the centre of the box which was met well by Jobe Waite to score a good header.

Our second goal came after some fantastic work from Treweek down the right after being fed the ball by Allam. Treweek beat two men then smashed the ball superbly into the far bottom corner to continue his fine form.

But Grampound dug in and pressed well. In the second half, they forced us into an error and Burgess gave away a penalty which was brilliantly coverted to put the pressure on with 12 to go.

But then Allam did brilliantly on the left, putting a superb ball across for Britcliffe to finish in fantastic style on his ‘weaker’ left foot.

Game over and a huge three points in our title campaign.

Stand out performances came from Law in midfield with a proper captain’s performance, Willmott between the sticks with superb saves and distribution, and Woolfitt at the back who was outstanding for the second match in a row.

However, this week’s man of the match was undoubtedly Jacob Richards who was just incredible at the back.

Big thanks to our match day sponsors Exclusive Pawnbrokers and Flavour Skateshop. But also to Pete Burgess for running the line, our supporters today, Steve Tootle for refereeing and to Grampound for their brilliant hospitality.

That win puts us 9 points clear at the top.

Up the mints!

St dennis 1 bodmin 2

Feel a little hard done by here as after last week where pretty much shots hit at goal went in n today the opposite apart from 2 strikes that only the away lino deemed off side when clearly they wernt especially late in the 2nd half when Charlie hit a fantastic equaliser between the 2 centre halfs who were closing him down I'll hasten to add only to be ruled off side the ball came from our right back to him who smashed it passed the keeper think the flag was up before jake had even decided to pass tbh, jakes ours rb btw, this was probably to be expected as majority of 1st half the flag from bodmin lino was up before the ball had met its intended target, very frustrating for all.

Goal of the game was a very well taken strike by bodmins ryan butler smashed it leaving beardo no chance tbf

Jordan Pope with our goal to get us level, our centre half had his header shut down n the resultant spilled ball gobbled up by bodmin striker to get their 2nd off a rebound.

In hindsight should of been out of sight by half time n probably double figures at the end of full time if and it's a major if, we had took our chances but we didn't and boddèrs took home the 3 points.

Now I appreciate not everyone is perfect and I fully appreciate being a lino isn't top of everyone's wish list but if I see an away teams lino do what they did today I will be worse and that is guaranteed, there's no need for it, we're all here doing something as a hobby and it's supposed to be enjoyable even in 0 degree weather we don't need to to have that as a linesperson spoiling it for the others, sour taste left is understandable, I thought bodmin had a bit of class about them obviously not.

Looking forward to the reverse fixture where hopefully we put things right.

Still ****** off and probably will be in 3 weeks time.

These opinions r my own n none of St dennisafc  I'll hasten to add.

It’s just not village football. The trend is being seen across mens cricket and rugby also.
