Boxy Posted Saturday at 19:01 Report Posted Saturday at 19:01 Looe v St Teath apologies for the lack of write ups recently, work and other commitment have taken priority. Today we hosted St Teath who have gone unbeaten in their last seven games. We knew it was going to be a tough game and they didn't disappoint. Looe Conceded early on when St Teath broke down the right wing and passed the ball across goal from the corner. for the ball to run through to the their player on the back post. a nicely passed ball and cleanly put away. Being that this was their first attempt and they scored, we new we'd need to dig deep. For the remaining part of the first half, Looe were the stronger side and kept the ball well, with several chances too. Their Keeper made some good saves, mostly with his feet. one nil down in the first half isn't great and with chances not taken, frustration takes hold. With a little pep talk and reminder on how we want the team to play we went out to try and win the second half. Give St Teath their due, they certainly knew how to defend and they worked hard on keeping the lead. Looe though kept pushing and finally a goal came on the 58th Minute. A nicely played ball from Jimi Taylor through for Finnley Bartlett to run onto and slot in down the right corner of the goal. on the 60th Minute Jimi and Harrison Harvey-Searle were brought off for Josh Doney and George Beardsmore. The team needed some fresh legs to keep up the energy. Richard Faircloth was replaced by Billy Chamberlain on the 75th minute. not long after Young Charlie Garner was replaced by Archie Sweeney. Charlie had his first start today and boy did the lad put in a shift, earning him MOTM. Looe came down the right with Philippo Kombostotis who played the ball in to the box. it was knocked about a bit and then fell in front of Josh Doney just outside the 18 yard box. who then punched it in to made it 2-1 to Looe. Barny was swapped for Reece Wilmott on the 85th minute who also worked hard throughout. Reece cam on to link up with Fin up top. Looe continued to move the ball and push at every chance. finally a great ball pass across the box came to a Josh again to make it 3-1. St Teath also had chances and the woodwork save us on one occasion as did Ryan with a spectacular save where he leaped across the goal from one side the other. keeping out out of the top right corner. Thanks to St Teath for leaving the changing room tidy. Shame you all had to leave straight after but you did send your apologies. Goals Fin Bartlett x1 Josh Doney x2 MOTM - Charlie Garner RAPPO and Brianmooreshead 2
RAPPO Posted Saturday at 19:59 Report Posted Saturday at 19:59 ST.MAWGAN 7-0. ST.AGNES. HT 2-0 ATT: Bout 25/30 Congrats to St.Mawgan, new facilities looking great! Pitch in good condition as well considering all the rain last 48 hours. Could even pay the £3 entrance each on your bank card, all organised stuff 👍⚽️. Weird game really! Aggie were the better side for the first 25 minutes, taking the game to the hosts, forcing half a dozen corners and had a couple headers kicked off the line, and nearly got on the end of a couple dangerous crosses fizzed across the face of goal. Then in the 27th minute a misplaced pass across the back 4 was cut out by Craig Allen and the lethal finisher was never gonna miss his one on one slotting into the corner. 5 minutes later a good cross from the left found giant centre half Brett Prentice who headed home. The big turning point came after 37 minutes when Aggies young keeper Lucas Lang (apologies if I get any names wrong, not 100% sure if I’m honest! ) was sent off for a rash last man challenge, with midfielder Mike Burn coming on to go in goal. The 2nd half was pretty much one way traffic from a rampant St.Mawgan who showed the ten men no mercy, Harrie Tilston 50th minute shot taking big deflection on the way in. He doubled his tally on 68 minutes with a crisp volley into the far corner before stand in keeper Burn made a couple of great saves from Allen and Tilston. A slick passing move down the left ended with a shot into the bottom corner from sub Jack Clark in the 72nd minute and Tilston completed his hat-trick from close range in the 77th. Aggie never gave in to be fair and saw a couple of late chances for a consolation go begging before Tom Barnetts? scuffed looking bobble shot from 15 yards somehow found its way into the corner of the net in the 89th minute for the final word. Good performance for an hour in the end from St.Mawgan and must have a good chance of winning the competition I would have thought 👏🏼👍 It’s a funny old game 🤔😀⚽️👍
Martin Hunn Posted Sunday at 06:35 Report Posted Sunday at 06:35 It was St Dominic 3 Torpoint 2 not the other way around

Thanks for letting me know. I reckon each week there’s always at least one result on full-time that gets altered. This one definitely was because I recall thinking to myself at the time when I saw it that “St Dominick lost - not having their usual season”!

Not having there usual season ? 🤔 completely different side to last year with only three players remaining this year from who played at in that title/cup winning side two now that im no longer playing club was with out a squad or a manager in june so id say not in a bad position considering!

Most of us know why Jamie and appreciate almost a complete new team, but as with the three past seasons finishing runners-up twice and champions last time around - the side's not having its usual season! I'm not criticising, its just a fact.

A fact that most people would expect and doesnt need pointing out really when the clubs trying to re build after success in previous years , the clubs still going others would have folded like many have
