metts
nanks every thing has been addressed and passed new dugouts the pitch bigger and wider and the fencing addressed new refs rooms and the whole club moving on and up wards we are the most sussefull senior club in newquay and will continue to move forward , so next season is a new venture for us but first we must respect torpoint saltash tamerside and landreth and every club we play, all we do every year is try to improve and as i was taught respect is earnt never demanded we will try to go forward as a team and club and wish every other club the best in their efforts, what will be will be all we are interested in at the moment is our next game which is wadebridge we will focus on that fixture first and at the end of the season if we have gained promotion we are ready and willing to compeate at the next level.. hope the familys good nanks ans catch up soon alan metters caoch godolphin atlantic f.c. Soccer Follower
Good luck with your promotion bid Alan,Godolphin are a good club. The facilities did need a bit of improvement(can remember trying to change in the old referee's changing room and there wasn't enough room for my kitbag!) Had some great times over there with the Ladies teams and some nights out that i just about remember kipping on your sofa. Will catch up with you again soon for a chat. Nanks
Hello Metts, family is all good thanks mate. If the facilities have been improved, which they defo needed to be as most people would agree, then theres no problem!! Good luck to Godolphin and all the best Metts
Grant
Good evening all. Metts, just wondering what factors you are taking into accoun t stating Godlphin as Newquay most successfull football team? Are you basing this on senior trophies won? Number of players who have represented the full or youth county teams? The current league pyramid system in which you play? Or recent form in which godolphin have won some good trophies? Godolphin football team have had a great few seasons and are no doubt improving by the year but to say they are the most successfull senior team in Newquay is a bit far fetched. It wasn't too long ago that the reserves won the league cup and evely cup double!! Good luck for the rest of the season and may see you next season. metts
hi grant i hope things are good and all is well. as in football ur judged in results and looking at any other senior team in our area st columb major, newylyn east etc and newquay we are the most progessive club in newquay and regarding county players we have a number of players who have chosen not to progress at county youth level through personal choice, as a coach i can only push and push players to play at the higest level and next year i hope a few will be pushing full county standard( really thay are that good) we respect every one in football but our journey is ours and ours alone and we can only look coach ,manage and push in the right direction to go on and enjoy their football careers ,25 years involved in senior football leaves me with a view that ability with out attude is nothing and this group of players are and will continue to be the best in this area as our medals and progessions through the league state, we do not want to be the best just we want to get the best out our players and believe me they are special , derek martin and mick tan and muff helped me personaly along with robbie black to help others and if i dont pass on the things iv learnt then im only letting them down and that is something im not prepared to do , catch you soon alan just to clear we are not in the same league as newquay in history i played against them are got some hidings but tonight i played and beat phil ryder at pool and cards so things change lol and newquay are not and will not be the side for the forseeable future they were and yes phil lost both times so times change and at this time godolphin are at this time the most successfull and most progressive team in newquay thats a fact but self praise is the worst form so im only answering ur question , i hope next season we are as good as camelford dowballs foxhole all who have done well, metts
Hakey
Im not sure how u have come to the conclusion that no club is good enough for me?? As i said, nothing agaisnt the team they have, they have some very good players. But as nanks said somethings needed to be addressed and if they have then great i look forward to playing against them next season as i have been involved in a few good games against them. Im sure they will have a good season and are easily capable of finishing in the top 6. Hope that clears things up abit as i didnt mean to offend just to voice my opinion. And i play for Dobwalls, cheers
metts
hi hakey and well done this season, i have kept my eye on ur progress and please say hi to dad for me we played at sticker together and ask him if he remembers playing 3-2-5 lol with himself up front with tony johnson steve washborn gary warn and chris hawk playing left and right beside the front four with ali and my self in the midfield and if i can rember right steve halstead kenny cook and mark clench at the back and not forgetting nigel hicks who was a great left back under mike penagalon our manager, not sure how long it lasted i think only a few games but it was a great attacking line up lol you should have seen the oppositions faces when faced with five forwards who were prob the best in the league at that time and not sure how it would work in todays game , but it created some great memorys and laughs it was very newcastle and kevin keegan ish and we pushed kilkhampton all the way in the league and cup final but came second to mervan madge and kilkhampton who were a great team , and every thing is going so well at godolphin this season the fields been done and passed after a lot of hard work by everyone , and were settled and playing well this season so looking forward to the games against ur selves and foxhole and camelford with billy and reg both doing well , so hope to catch up soon alan metters

Grant
Metts, I totally agree with you that Godolphin have been the most successfull on form in the last few seasons and they have some really good youngsters in the form of phil lowry , dave moore and shane hickling!!! I find it difficult though that you cam compare results from a lower league when newquay have been trying to compete with the likes of St Blazey, Liskeard, Truro, Argyle, Parkway et al for the past .......seasons. One thing I probably would agree on in general is that of progession and atitude from the Godolphin team. Well done to all involved and hopefully see you next season, its got to be good for the town. p.s the pool and darts teams steal ur limelight? ha ha

metts
mr manning there has been new fencing put up around the playing surface and 2 new dugouts built opp each other, and to seat 10 persons each ,prob the best in the league, the fencing put back to lengthen and widen the playing surface as soon as our last home game finishes, the footings for the excisting refs room to be enlarged for 5 persons have been started as we speak but this is only temp for a season ,but we can not do to much untill the last game as you understand, the plans to extend the excisting changing rooms to give us new changing rooms refs and toilets have all been passed and under league rules we now have 2 years to compleat but again work will start as soon as the season ends, all work that is reqd by the league will be compleated for our first friendly next season , the fencing now sits well away from the playing surface to allow us to lengthen and widen the surface as soon as the season finishes ,at the moment we have spent in the region of £5000 and will carry on improving everything showers ect for next season, hope this gives you an insite of the hard work going on at the club and how proud we are to gain promotion to the sw pen league next season , alan metters
