Nailsea and Tickenham 1 Saltash United 2

What a performance. Really proud of the lads tonight. Two first half goals from Deacon Thomson and Jake Curtis then a red card for Jake for a what looked fair challenge which caught the Nailseas player ankle causing a serious injury. Nailsea scored after 15 secs at restart 2nd half, then threw everything all our way- hit the upright and that bounced out, another goalline clearance ping-pong later on, and then with 3 up front but the defence were to a man- totally solid.

What's astonishing - the average age of this side is well well under 25 and some are 17/18/19. Not many sides will go N and T and win - but boy it's a lovely feeling tonight.

Is Rikki  shepherd still injured ? Seen he missed a fair chunk of the games.

Torpoint AFC 3-1 Street FC

Off the back of last weeks FA Vase win, we were hoping that we could take that confidence into the League. After 10 straight League defeats, we could've done without the visit of high flying Street.

After a big chance for Cloke in the opening minute which was missed, the game started as you could've expected, Street had plenty of the ball and moved the ball extremely well. With less than 15 minutes on the clock, Foster made it 1-0 to the visitors after the ball was flashed across the box. If anything, this actually helped settle Torpoint into the game. Sullivan caused issues down the right hand side and if not for a heavy touch, he could've brought us back level. The key moment of the game game after 38 minutes, a bouncing ball in the middle of the pitch was consented by Chapman (head) and Allessandro (right foot), with Freddie dipping to win the header his opposing man had not seen Chapman arriving over his shoulder. A kick to the face but in no way intentional or with excessive force, to the surprise of both home and visiting dugouts, a straight red card was shown. I'm personally not sure if the action fell under the "serious foul play" law but the man in the middle did. With Allessandro given his marching orders, Street fell into a 441 formation. Torpoint soon found themselves back in the game as Sullivan again did well down the right hand side to cross to Cloke to hammer home.

The HT break could've broken the momentum for the home side but it was soon 2-1 to the hosts as Cloke grabbed his second of the game as he put his 1v1 away. The next 15 minutes of the game saw us fully in control but familiar to past weeks where we couldn't quite put the game away. Elliott, Cloke and Jeffrey all had big chances to kill the game off but were unable to do so. It wasn't until the 73rd minute with a fantastic corner whipped in for Crawford to control in the box and volley home. Torpoint remained in control for the rest of the game to pick up a much needed 3 points.

MoM went to Will Sullivan after a relentless display down the right hand side. On to Bodmin Town on Tuesday night in the Senior Cup.
