UNDER 18 RATHBONE TROPHY Newquay vs Truro

Went and watched the young players of the future play on the artificial pitch at Tretherras School Really good game but the player i had come to watch was Truros Rhys Simmonds and the Newquay players singled him out for some rough treatment .

He scored a brilliant goal to put Truro 2-0 but not long after he had to go off injured with stud marks down his calf there was a lot of fouls going on from both sides and Steve had his work cut out controlling the 2 teams i think he had booked 10 players while i was there but no one had been sent off some should of been . 

It was 3-2 to Truro when i left wanted to get home to watch Man City .

Some players stood out for me Truro quite a few but i picked 2 RHYS SIMMONDS AND THE NO6 he was really good and for Newquay the talented lad Allam who scored both of Newquays goal and tried a bicycle kick that didn't come off also the other player i thought was good was the no 8

Mom for Truro got to be RHYS SIMMONDS for his great goal 

would like to say well done to Steve for refereeing the match i should know his 2nd name by now i think he always does well .

Boyd Mallinder was very good. Someone put up the final score was 5-3 To NEWQUAY and the goalie saved a pen when young Simmonds went off injured Truros attacking force was gone Well done to NEWQUAY

The other player was RHYS SIMMONDS and the ref always known him as Steve people on here will know him hes a lovely chap. Rhys is a brilliant player and Newquay have a gem in the lad Allam  he was very good be in the 1st team next year
