Happy 75th. Birthday FALMOUTH TOWN F C

Friday September 16th.1949 a public meeting was held at the Town Hall to discuss the fiormation of The new Falmouth Town F C. where 30 attended to form a committee and one week later Friday 23rd. the first minuted meeting took place..

There had been a club flying under the banner of Falmouth Town F C since the turn of the Century mainly on and off in the Falmouth & dDistrict League  and a midweek Wednesday League when shops shut for Half Day closing..

 Was the folding of Falmouth Docks in season 1948.49 when they didn't complete their fixtures the catalyst for the reforming of Falmouth Town--The Docks did re appear in 1960/61 in the Cornwall Combination League.

Apparently Town been given a “winter allowance” by the Southern League of an extra 10 points!! 😀👍

After today’s result a 10 point extra allowance may be useful come the end of season.

Said it before, but a book on the 75 years of Falmouth Town would make a great read.

A tale of boom, bust, boom, bust and then onto the current resurgence.

Quite a few heroes and also plenty of villains along the way.
