Lifeintheolddog
Wendron 2 (1) Vs (1) 4 Mousehole Devs A good win against a decent Wendron team, Wendron played with the wind and went 1-0 ahead with a long range strike, they had the better of the game for the first 30 mins but Mousehole grew into the game and drew level with a good free kick from Logan Trevains 1-1 HT Second half Mousehole changed formation and took the game to Wendron playing some decent football and under instructions to shoot, Jack Symons did exactly that and made it 2-1 with a well struck shot into the corner quickly followed by another from Regan Hull. Substitute Connor Hurrell came on to make it 4-1 before Wendron got a consolation at the death. Wendrons pitch held up well and the weather held off which is always nice, great hospitality as always at Wendron with sausage and chips after. Good luck to Wendron for the rest of the season, still some twist a turns in the title maybe but it’s simple maths for Mousehole, 5 games left if they win 5 they win the league. Sounds simple 😂😂 Thecupfootballblogger
Dave Deacon
St Mawgan 1-4 St Dominick (Barrett 2, Jeffery, Hawkins) Probably not the best of days weather-wise to visit St Mawgan for the first time! A cloudy dull day! Pitch looked ok, but blowy conditions not the easiest with the ball running off the pitch far too easily. Nevertheless the visitors will be content with the result and another 3 points to keep their title challenge going. 3 up at the break, the damage had been done first half with goals in the 17th, 23rd and 33rd minutes. The first one a penalty. 5 minutes after the break it was 4-0 and game over! St Mawgan did eventually, ten minutes from time, get on the scoresheet, also from the penalty spot. I like the look of the stand, enabling shelter from the wind, which I would imagine on a really blowy day would be more than a nuisance! Also building a new clubhouse/changing rooms at one end of the ground or is it just to be changing rooms? Perhaps someone can clarify that please. Grassrootsgary
St Mawgan 1 Doms 4 As always a tough away trip faced us yesterday on the north coast at St Mawgan. With the wind to begin, the home sides free kicks and corners were a threat until we thought we’d gone one up but the goal was rule out for offside. After twenty minutes we did go ahead, Ben Jeffery played through one on one and he was fouled by the keeper, Harvey Barrett kept his cool to slot home. Our second goal came about five minutes later, Kieran Ryall playing Alex Jacob in who squared for Jeffery to score for strike number 125 in a Doms shirt. A third in quick succession followed, again the pace of Jacob and Jeffery causing problems and this time the squared ball was finished off by Lee Hawkins. The game was effectively killed off 5 mins after the break, Ryall’s corner came out to Jacob and his goal bound strike brushed off Barrett on its way for 4-0. The home side did pull a consolation back with a late penalty of their own, after Jamie Blatchford made an excellent save in the same phase of play the penalty was awarded for a foul. Shortly after though the final whistle was blown to conclude a strong away performance. MOTM went to Ben Jeffery. Have to say the state of the changing rooms when the away team turned up wasn’t the best to say the least, a huge pile of rubbish and mud just left in the middle of the changing room floor.
