AmberArmy
BODMIN 2 - 2 WADEBRIGE TOWN (Abandoned in Extra Time) An eventful local derby played on the astro at Callywith College. The hosts dominated things from kickoff, keeping Wadebridge pinned in their own half. A spectacular long-range effort on 23’ from Kaz Marsden looped over the visiting keeper to make it a deserved 1-0. And within 10 minutes it was 2-0, with 16 year old Izzy Knights controlling the ball on the edge of the box before curling home. Comfortable for the hosts at the break … or so it seemed! Wadebridge came out rejuvenated after the interval, with a switch of formation, and 2 goals from Lily Atkinson and Sonja Wallace-Fox suddenly made it more akin to a true local derby. Both teams had chances to finish things off but the 90 minutes were up … 30 minutes extra time beckoned. But within 5 minutes of the restart, young Bodmin forward Izzy fell awkwardly and several around her heard the crack. And that was that. Unable to be moved and an ambulance called, the game was abandoned and both sides headed for the post-match pub. Minus Izzy and the coaches of course! X-rays confirmed a broken collarbone for Izzy, who was probably having her best game of this, her first season in women’s football. We all wish her well, and look forward to a fresh meeting of these teams in the weeks ahead. Thecupfootballblogger and GaryHocking
We Two
Well done Amber Army it would be appreciated by all who support the ladies game if the clubs submitted a match report, it would greatly increase the interest in that section of the game. 17 hours ago, AmberArmy said: BODMIN 2 - 2 WADEBRIGE TOWN (Abandoned in Extra Time) An eventful local derby played on the astro at Callywith College.
