What about the sides that travel with bare 11 just to get the fixture played, knowing they are in for a loss. How are decisions like this fair on them? golong and cornish leg end 1

cornish leg end
You lot make it sound so simple putting 11 players out for a game! If this was the case I’m sure the game would be going ahead. If they need some time to pull together then give them it we don’t want to be losing another side or club! You make this sound even worse.. They had 7 players from the first team available, the second team didn’t have a game so could EASILY field 4 from that team to complete the fixture. If the seconds are hellbent on not helping the first team out, what sort of club are they? Given a grace period is just an excuse, that’s 4 games this season that Praze haven’t had a game because teams can’t raise sides.. Combo league used to be an exciting league to join, it’s slowly becoming a show 😂 1ofthekids

Not to be disrespectful, but it is pretty simple. Back in my day you would be messaging around and grab anyone to get the game on - people that don’t even play football would be playing full back! You didn’t want the embarrassment or to let other players and sides down. Unless you had a wedding or an excuse of equal comparison that was scheduled in months before, if you didn’t raise a side you got docked points and fined. It’s always been the case and showing leniency to this rule only encourages this behaviour. You mention giving them ‘time to pull together’ - they’ve only played 9 games!! It’s just farcical. If any sides playing today have any American lads playing, just message the league and they will give you the weekend off so you can watch the game today 🙄 claret&blue and Pitty
Yourhavingalaugh
Too many teams, not enough players, not enough refs, not enough interest, not enough commitment, it’s no one’s fault, it’s just where grassroots sport is at the minute. I wish teams weren’t voted into leagues at the beginning of season and just accept that poorly managed clubs will fold ie a natural cull, and well managed clubs from top to bottom will remain. Wouldn’t it be better for local football if there were too many players and not enough teams, so players who are committed to play every week had to work for a regular place in the team. IMO everything would improve, general facilities, management, player standard, refereeing, more people watching, closer games resulting in closer leagues, overall a better product. Part time players can still have a kick around with their mates.

Well it would be 10 if they could’ve got a side vs Helston earlier on in the season 😅 I just think if you can’t get a side you should lose the points and pay the fine. Especially if you’re calling off the night before. How can anyone disagree with that?

Slipperygloves1
St Agnes docked 3 points earlier in the season for not fielding a team. Since then loads of games called off with no repercussions. Seems harsh
ah reckon so
Culdrose 5 -0 Mawnan Mawnan were the better side 1st half (in my opinion) and were unlucky to find themselves 2-0 down at the break, then Culdrose ran away with it in the 2nd half. Game was a good battle with hard tackles going in from both sides but nothing underhand, lots of verbals and a lot of banter which made for an enjoyable afternoon for those watching Ref kept the game flowing and gave a couple of cards to stay on top of it all.
