Dave Deacon
Sorry to hear the news of the death of Tony. An ex-pro who gave his time after that to local football in the west. 125 appearances for Northampton Town between 1956–1961. Condolences to his family and close friends. RAPPO
Really sad to hear the news this morning off Roger Toms, former Penzance manager and good friend of Tony. Was at Penzance where I met Tony first, great coach and full of football wisdom. Brilliant bloke to have a chat with and he always made you feel good about yourself with his advice and encouragement. Fit as a fiddle as well and I’m pretty sure he played Combo for Mousehole when he was about 60 years old!! RIP Tony and best wishes to the family and all his many friends 👏🏼⚽️
kevin richards
Desperately sorry to hear this news. A great football man who always gave you an opinion, sometimes, not always what you wanted to hear. A hard as nails old fashioned full back, glad I was never a winger. 🫣 Above all, a true gentleman & will always be remembered as a true Cornish legend. Condolences to Tony’s family & friends from me & all at Porthleven Football Club.
Tommy Matthews
Really sad news. He was manager of the reserves when I played at Penzance and although we didn’t have a lot of interaction, you could tell he knew his stuff. A proper gentleman who always had time to speak to you. RIP Tony and my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
