St Columb Major 2-1 St Newlyn East FT

A very wet and cold afternoon today in St Columb Major, but it was the home side playing the better football and moving the ball round nicely with fantastic chemistry among the major players.

St Columb took the lead through a corner which Callum Faulkner picked up a loose ball inside the penalty box and smashed it home to make it 1-0 to St Columb.

St Columb Major doubled their lead just before half time with a absolute screamer from Dan Ball just outside the box and from a very tight angle. St Columb headed into the interval half time break with a 2-0 lead.

St Newlyn East finally woke up and started pilling some pressure on the Major goal in the last 15 minutes, They did manage to pull a goal back in the 88th minute.

St Columb though did hang on and in my opinion deserved the 3pts in the end.

Up the Major !!

Was the draw for the cup done? JC stated on the podcast that it would have been at one of the games today…

Not sure if Mr Colenzo is mis-informed or out of touch as iIt looks like it’s already done on full time with Foxhole v St Stephen and St Col v Torpoint if the previous rounds are anything to go by.

Think that’s just how FT is laid out St George, or so I’ve just been told. Take that draw all day long tho 😂

Watched this one and thought it was ruined by an over fussy ref whose decisions left both teams baffled at times.
Watched SNE play St Minver and thought they could have pushed St Columb close with that side - was then disappointed to see they were missing both Ross and Owen London in attack and especially Sam Eglinton at the heart of their defence as think they would all have made a difference. Great strike from Dan Ball for St Columb’s second goal. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

All ifs and buts 😂 St Columb Major were without a few also like arguably their best creative player Josh Burnell and co.

Thought he’d moved away? Anyway it’s all irrelevant when you see the squad Foxhole have assembled now!!! Tyler Cheshire and Cam Bidgood playing and scoring yesterday. That’s some squad for the  ECPL the Foxes have now.

Wadebridge fully deserved the win yesterday, massively disappointed in the way we played as we really can't carry on throwing results away, bridgers had their keeper sent off in the 1st half as well due to handball just out side his area?? This galvanized bridgers where it made us worse if that's possible!!

Will give the ref Dayle a shout out as he was very good again yesterday he really makes the games about the players n not himself he's an absolute pleasure to be reffed by.
