Matty bye sent off again?  ?  The helston granit xhaka .  Would imagine that contributed to that thumping. Expected helston to give them a game to be fair.

To be fair it was only going one way from 10 minutes in. Helston we’re pretty poor and the players were awful towards the referee all match.

Great win for Buckland and the best performance of the season by them.

Helston need a striker and possibly a keeper if they are to improve on the good recent run

You've probably picked their 2 most solid areas to want to improve..... Strikers and keeper... All 3 have performed very well this season

Must have been really quiet on here the last few weeks with Helston on their winning run but now they’ve lost one the fools are back. Consistent if nothing else.

Ha ha ha, congratulations on Helstons winning run coming to an end but you got to realize that being such a successful club people get envious. Forgetting the long distant past, could you remind all of us all how many trophies Helston have won over the past 5 years please ? Asking for an envious friend. ;) .

You must have expected that though surely? Not going to gloat at the result though as it leaves me open to ridicule should you get one over us in the return match.

Expected what? An after-the-lord mayor’s-show performance? Buckland have been a good side for quite a few seasons now so I doubt Helston went there expecting an easy time. Let’s hope the tables get turned when they travel west.

Enjoyed a hard-fought game at Bickland Park as Falmouth produced a real backs-to-the-wall effort to beat high-flying Shepton Mallett 1-0.

The visitors, who had won eight of nine league games so far, looked a really good outfit and totally dominated the last quarter of the match but could not find a way through a brave home defence, with Falmouth keeper Barnes in outstanding form.

The only goal came after about an hour with a superb header by Kellow after Falmouth kept the ball alive after a corner.

The visitors were impressive throughout but let themselves down with some angry petulance as they couldn't break Falmouth's resistance, the tackle on Nixon that ultimately led to him having to go off being a particularly nasty example.

Beautiful spring-like conditions and a crowd of over 400 made it an enjoyable football occasion but can anyone tell me why the area of the ground opposite was out of bounds?

Ultimately, a very good three points for Falmouth, showing that they can compete at Western League level if they dig deep enough.

The area of ground opposite the stand is out of bounds because it's not up to standard. Shocking considering the amount of professionals within the f troop 😬

Good win for Torpoint today, corner turned?

More points dropped at home though for Mousehole. Know they have games in hand, but they are starting to lag behind the promotion slots. Trundle Parc maybe not looking quite the fortress (and daunting away trip) that it used to be?

Regarding the Helston comments earlier, it is their first league reverse since the opening day and is still early days for the Mat Cusack project. There will be bumps in the road. Dan Hart's Buckland do seem like a different proposition this season though. Shepton Mallet's sudden dip in form possibly gives them, and a few others, fresh impetus in the race for the top 2.

Thanks Dave but do we know exactly why? Have stood that side a few times as it has been improved over the years so just wonder what the specific issue is.

It's because it's earth and not a bonded surface. Same problem that Saltash have. OK for the FA Vase though. Crazy regulations but have to abide by them. Still enough room to accommodate the crowds though.

Yes it was, if I remember correctly you said it all improvements would be done. 😂

Last season it wasn't a problem, this is a Step 5 requirement.  You really are a silly billy Silly Billy.

Obviously, but you had the end of the season to get it sorted. Arrangements could of been put in place mid season to start work as soon as the season had finished as it was plain to see Falmouth would get promoted .👍

Incorrect! It's also a problem at Step 6, which I advised Falmouth about on more than one occasion. Bound hard standing is required on at least two adjacent sides/ends at Step 6. Any pitchside area without hard standing is not considered a spectator viewing areas and should not be accessible to spectators.

So Town Fan was being silly, and needs to get his facts right. 🤣

Well the Peninsula League had no issues with it and if you read the Step 6 ground grading document it states that;

Any level surface within the ground should ideally be hard standing, such as tarmac, concrete,
concrete paving or other approved materials which create a bound surface. However, flat and well
maintained grassed areas may be accepted.

So Town Fan reads the relevant information, so not such a silly billy.....
