Thecupfootballblogger
Illogan moved into the second round of the League Cup with a dominant second-half performance away to their West Division rivals. The first 45 was very even with goalmouth mouth action and clear chances few and far between as the two sides cancelled each other out. The second period was a completely different story as Illogan took total control. However, a combination of good keeping, brave defending and some wayward finishing meant it was still 0-0 with just over 15 minutes to go. Would Illogan rue these missed opportunities? No. Two goals in a minute finally broke Perranwell's resistance. The first was a tidy finish into the far bottom corner and the second was a good strike into the top corner. 'Well pushed forward trying to get back into the tie - without ever really looking like they would succeed - and Illogan rounded off the scoring with a classic cup-tie counter-attack against an undermanned home defence. This was an important win for the visitors as this is definitely a trophy they could lift at the end of the season. Full-time: Perranwell 0 Illogan RBL 3.
