Fancy some Monday night football?

Recommended Posts

Good chance for Town's youngsters to measure themselves against those from a professional set up. Hope the F-Troop turn out for this.

Said it before, but I think Monday night football is something that merits an extended trail at step 6 level. Especially as it would avoid Champions League football (heard on CS Podcast that some think attendances at local matches are down on these evenings).

According to social media, the F-Troop will be there in numbers tonight.

Quite an interesting test from Torquay's perspective as well. Very much a college-based programme these days as opposed to how it was club-based in Football League days. Pretty certain most of the players - but perhaps not exclusively - attend South Devon College in Paignton. Coaches there include Kevin Wills, Austen Booth, Jamie Richards and Ryan Dickson. Niall Thompson may also have been involved previously although he may now be in another job at the college.

It finished Falmouth 1-3 Torquay.

Good game to watch with Torquay deserving to go through on an evening ideal for playing football and watched by a decent crowd. Torquay's third came right at the end of the match and just after Falmouth defender hit in an almost too well a struck shot from distance which unfortunately the visiting keeper was right behind!

Also good to see a number of the first team squad down there watching and supporting the youngsters.
