Opening Saturday of the season. Lots of interesting score lines. Mousehole looking good, Falmouth sneak a point in front of a good crowd? Helston thumped. Barely a match report from any game and not even the scores from these Western league clubs. As Delia Smith once said 'where are you?'

Is Town man's report not good enough for you Paul ? Keith B liked it . Can't speak for Mousehole but I'm sure if you ask Le Boss nicely he could sum up the Helston game for you .

Helston were not great. Bridgwater wanted it so much more and played like a cohesive unit. Helston could not keep the ball giving it away time after time. An own goal and a penalty inflated the score because neither keeper were worked hard. Lots for the new manager to ponder and it can only get better. Good lot from Bridgwater who stayed afterwards and nice to see 3 ex Helston strikers and a genuine legend there also watching.

The Western League scores were available on the app shortly after the games finished.

TS Western League Premier Division
TORPOINT ATHLETIC 1 MOUSEHOLE 5
HT: 1-1
Att: 164
Admission £6 & £4 cons
Tea Hut Stuff: Coffee in a mug, a quid
Weather: Mild, odd sunny spell, cloudy & dry
Programme: Free, 68 pages, more than half of which are adverts
Nutter Alert: Somebody from Mousehole brought a drum, which successfully annoyed normal people
Match Rating: 4/10

A bone hard pitch with less grass than Day 5 of a Mumbai Test.

100 mile an hour headless chicken hoof and chase. It was like watching a pinball machine on fast forward.

Torpoint hardly threatened and got their only goal from a penalty (which came about from an unfortunate, innocent handball). Then they got a second pen for a dubious flop which they duly missed. They hardly tested the keeper after that.

Mousehole fumbled through the gears second half and banged an additional 4 goals in. Scoreline was harsh as 3 of the 4 in question came from rank defending and comedy club fumbles from the keeper.

Wasn't impressed with the standard of Football, especially as this passes for Premier Division stuff in the Western League.

My programme takes a lot of hard work to put together and will get better during the season. We have a lot of great sponsors at the club and we thank each and everyone one of them. Plus we are one of a very few clubs that produce a free programme and I can thank my work for their continued sponsorship of the programme.

Robbie,  any program takes time and effort to produce and it can be a thankless task, especially if you have to print it at home, then collate and stitch it. To produce one for free is admirable and I congratulate you for doing it. At Falmouth Town we charge a pound and that is so we don't make a loss and keep the advertising rate reasonable. I've watched first division football in France and mostly all you get is a team sheet so I would never knock the efforts of any step 5, 6 or 7 club in this country.

Well done from me.

Don't understand the point you're trying to make?

Are you suggesting I'm knocking your programme? If so, that's not the intention.

Surely it's not because I said it had adverts in it?
