Recommended Posts

I have decided to go to Blazey tonight to watch Cornwall vs Devon just hope the match is still on ,im hoping Devon have lots of the Plymouth Parkway side out but no news of the match anywhere im still not so sure it is on . Hope i can charge my batteries for camera in time ,i wont be watching the whole match because my eyes are very sensitive to bright car headlights i got Radiotherapy to thank for that well cant have everything im still here moaning as usual .

Looking forward to the match and Smokie needs his footy fix because he wont get it on Saturday where he will be in the car at Bodmin .

Look forward to seeing fellow miserable gits like myself at tonights footy or at Stalag Priority Park Bodmin on Saturday

That is a really odd criteria. So Devon pick stu bowker and Steve Colwell Reece Shanley from a Cornish team who live in Devon. Cornwall pick Ryan Richards, Calum Martindale  who live in Devon etc

No Sam hughes  or josh grant probably 2 of the best strikers in western league

Depends who was available or interested I guess. Probably an insight into why the old SW Counties Championship ceased to exist, ended up feeling like an inconvenience in a crowded season.

Stand corrected, but think qualification was one of;

Born in Cornwall.

Live in Cornwall.

Signed on for a Cornwall club.

Sounds like just anyone can play to be honest from Cornwall or Devon. I think often with this sort of game  is managers who know the players

Nearly every time a representative squad is announced, there are always people who moan about who has and who hasn’t been pick. Any sensible manager would pick players that would make the best team and not just pick the best players and try and fit them in somewhere. I’m sure Devon will be fine, despite people recognising some of the names. Big name players generally don’t make the best team.

Back from watching the Brunel Cup had to leave before it got too dark great goal from Jack to put Cornwall 1-0 thought it was against the run of play ,thought Stuart Bowker and Levi where playing very well for Devon but Jack goes down the other end and scores a hell of a goal but Jack just doesnt score tap ins .Met some lovely people down there tonight and Smokie had some fuss made over him as usual and the chips at Blazey are lovely .

I get very upset driving down there and St Austell i drive past my deceased partners house and it gets to me every time she would of been 55 this Saturday and May the 25th is the day she died suddenly i cant get over that day and everyday is a struggle my life changed that day , just so nice watching local football and meeting lovely people like David Bray tonight .

My MOM for what i did see tonight for Cornwall CALLUM O,BRIEN AND DEVON STUART BOWKER

1 more match to go this SATURDAY hope Ryan Richards and Damerell play then should be a great game

Hope there some good Pre Season friendlies hoping Plymouth Parkway play someone locally

Finished 2 1 to Cornwall

Jack Bray Evans was quality for the 55 mins he was on for until. He got injured.

Has definitely lost some of his bulk which I always thought slowed him down.

Held the ball up superbly.... Looked sharp and scored a fantastic goal.

Other standouts for me were Josh Storey..... Jake Miller.. Levi Landricombe and Stuart Bowker.

Cornwall had the much better players but game was relatively even

Pencilled in to play Ashes at Waterway Tuesday 26th July and reconfirmed this week secretary to secretary (before anyone says/claims different).

Good game last night. Great to meet a few friends from other clubs and had a really nice chat with some F Troop supporters. One of those just nice evenings when you can kick back and just enjoy the game.

Thanks to St Blazey- hopefully you’ll get your stand roof sorted out (probably waiting the storm insurance like us to come through) but still a great place to watch football and hopefully you’ll push on for promotion next season!

In March :-

The new 3-year agreement sees Waterways Drainage Specialists take over from the grounds long standing name ‘Kimberley Stadium’ as the stadium’s title sponsor. The deal will see Saltash United stepping out to play at ‘The Waterways Stadium’ in games with immediate effect.”
