Both Sides of the Tamar
Plymouth Parkway 4 Mangotsfield United 0 Sparkling stuff first half blew away a feeble visiting side. Three scored, should have been six or more! 12 mins Callum Hall half volley ends up in the bottom corner 24 mins - Adam Carter after missing an easy chance now nets with a cool finish inside the box rolling it past the Mangos 'keeper 42 mins - Jack Crago beats keeper to a fine diagonal cross from MOTM Jamie Lowry, again having missed a one-on-one with the 'keeper in the first five minutes. Williams, Lane, Hall, Carter and Rose all also going close in addition to the above. Understandably a fairly soporific second 45 with the game won and a trip to Barnstaple beckoning on Monday. Fewer chances, all to Parkway were spurned, until 88 mins - Callum Rose netted with a fine drive from the right hand side of the box. Lovely sunny day. 660 Attendance and a walk in the (Bolitho) Park for Parkway. Mangotsfield were abysmal. For a team needing to win their application, commitment, desire to win was risible. Just watching them come on the field for the second half their collective body language gave them away. What a miserably meek way to get relegated! Ian Pethick
Jamie Lowry is a class act. Against an admittedly feeble sounding Mangos side, it sounds like he controlled the game for the hour odd that he was on the pitch. Think it is the first game he has started at any level all season as well. With more than one eye on possibly the two biggest matches in Parkway's history next week, it was good that Lee Hobbs was able to take Ryan Lane and Billy Palfrey off pretty early and leave Matt Andrew as an unused sub. sportsman10
Lowery is a quality player. He just seems to come in and look like he played for years in the team. He definitely needed along with Shane crac as it a bit thin on players with injuries and and other issues. I saw parkway demolish Barnstaple recently at home and they didn’t look anywhere near good enough. But I see they had a few decent results so it still be a tricky one. Lowry was outstanding on Saturday. Always looks good every time I see him play. What a potential week ahead for Parkway & Tavi ! Not sure which one I'm going to next Saturday yet. PPFC deserve to go up. I've seen some great performamces at Bolitho this season. MattP
