Weston-Super-Mare  6  Hendon  0

Weston, who are in a play off position, entertained a Hendon team who are in lower reaches of the league on a very warm sunny afternoon at the Optima Stadium.

The visitors started the game well forcing a couple of good saves from Max Harris whilst Marlon Jackson brought a diving save from the visiting custodian. In the 25th minute Dale Grubb scored with a superb right foot curling free kick from 30 yards into the corner of the net.In the 36th minute more Weston pressure resulted in a right wing attack with the ball crossed to the left,a shot went in,blocked and the loose ball was stabbed in by Sonny Cox.The half ended with an angled volley by Jackson being spectacularly pushed over by the Visiting keeper.

The game was effectively over by the 50th minute when Cox played a 1-2 with Jackson before lifting his shot over a diving keeper. It was 4-0 in the 59th minute as Grubb capitalised on a loose ball in the penalty area.A act of stupidity by a visiting player with a high ,late challenge on the halfway line resulted in a straight red card in the 65th minute. In the 74th minute another free-kick from 25 yards by Grubb completed his hat trick and earned him the man of the match award.Cox also completed his hat-trick when he had a simple tap in following a shot being deflected to him.

A very clinical performance by The Seagulls as they kept the pressure on in the play off positions but Hendon were a poor team lacking real fight.A good crowd again cheered their favourites from the pitch at the end of the game.

Referee Ryan Saward had a very good match.

Do they need any?

Not many but you can assume some will be attracted by the opportunity to play in front of an actual crowd at the same standard.

A striker I’d say, Tyler Harvey would be a great signing for Parkway if he became available. The missing piece in the Parkway jigsaw?

Wouldn’t be surprised, Carter can’t go on forever

And you would have to say that Tom Bath has been a flop.

He been too inconsistent. He Has a decent game then 3-4 games where he looks like he nowhere near  good enough and  Can’t trap a bag of cement.  They Will definitely need better strikers if the do go up ,
