Frome Match Report

Recommended Posts

City's travelling fans were rewarded on their long trip to what most people described as the teams best performance of the season on Saturday as the clubs march to the Southern League continued.

Truro made just the one change from the Bishop Sutton game with Ian Gosling replacing Chris Reski in midfield, Truro stormed off to a great start causing the Frome defence many problems throughout the match. It was Ian Gosling who produced a sublime cross on 9 minutes which found Yettons head to score with the keeper helpless.

The midfield was strong with Broad and Wills taking full control with Martin always strong in the challenge never letting Frome get a grip of the game, on 23 minutes Wills burst into the box and set up Watkins to make it two nil.

The hard working front two were unable to break down the Frome defence although they created several chances, Frome only had one real chance in the match but when called upon Chapman pulled off a class save to deny the home attack.

During the second half City were denied by Frome's keeper the save from Vercesi's effort late on was the pick of the bunch but Truro held on to a comfortable victory against one of the strongest sides in the league.

The victory added by the news of Corsham's defeat sent the fan's home happy and looking forward to Tuesday's league match against Barnstaple looking to extend their lead to seven points.
