Saltash 2 Helston 1 in the Cornwall Senior Cup.

A tale of 2 penalties with Saltash’s Callum Martindalw scoring his and Helston Stuart Bowker having his saved.

Quite humorous to listen to Helstons captain on the Cornish Football podcast predicting a comfortable 3-0 win!!!!

Is that the same captain that got sent off at buckland gaining himself a 4 match ban making himself unavailable for the game .🤔

Dane suggesting helston just hoofed the ball about no real system.
Wist happen to this Orlando fella. Wasn’t he like the poor man’s Cornish ronaldo. Can’t even get on a the team.
will need to keep hold of bowker and  to sign some more faces to stop the season turning into a disaster

  • Dave Deacon changed the title to RESULTS - Saturday 15 January 2022

Well deserved win by Dobwalls. Millbrook did not show up. So many poor errors, awful passes and the defence was non existent?

Not sure what happened? But Dobwalls just outplayed Millbrook. They took charge in the midfield and thier forwards were always a threat. Some great goals by Dobwalls.

Chris in the Millbrook goal will want to forget that match. One of the worst performances I have seen very disappointing. Good luck to Dobwalls

Tavistock just keep going.8 wins from the last 8 matches inn the league moves them 14 points clear over Mousehole and, the yet again under the radar, Exmouth Town. . Judging by Stuart Henderson's comments last week, he now seems to view Mousehole as the main threat (they have 5 games in hand on Tavi) and is once again trying to frame his team as the poor relations when compared to the resources that Jake Ash has. Can see why he does this, but it does detract from what he's achieved (and keeps achieving) at Langsford Park. Given the upheaval in the summer and losing  key players (deep into pre season in the case of Matt Andrew), guiding them to the title and promotion into the Southern League would be a huge accomplishment.

Some thinly veiled swipes aimed at Helston from Saltash. Bit needless really.

Think this was in response to a helston player predicting a comfortable 3-0 win for helston on a podcast prior to the game and not giving Saltash any chance at all. Plus the ongoing rivalry with Saltash and helston over the last couple of seasons and both managers not seeing eye to eye on various incidents, other comments in the past on social Media from all parties too

To be fair tavi have always recruited well and looked at players that will do well in the team.  and have had to deal with players leaving to get more money elsewhere every season .
losing jack crago was a blow and Matt Andrew but they seem to have just got on with it . It’s almost like Stu Henderson enjoys the fact he has to work within his means.
If you compare that with helston losing players and struggling they have done a great job.
would the next step up be a struggle tho !?

Think Tavistock would do OK in the Southern League, especially if they can keep their well established core group in place. Stuart Henderson is a pretty wily and very capable manager. Assuming of course he doesn't get lured away, he must be on the radar of step3/4 clubs. He would fancy luring back one or two of the players who went to Parkway for Southern League football, and may also attract players down the A30 from Bideford and Barnstaple. Expect he will also continue to unearth nuggets from the local scene.

It’ll be a sad day when Stu leaves the club.

His knowledge of players in this region is invaluable and second to none! Given the budget constraints and the difficult summer of losing players to other clubs he’s done a remarkable job again and deserves another promotion on his CV.

Don’t feel as if Tavistock have played too well recently but are still winning games which is the sign of a good side.

Definitely think there are a few more gears if and when needed.
