The FA Trophy 2nd Round Proper draw has been made

The draw for the Second Round of the FA Trophy has been made today.

Binfield v Truro City 

Binfield are Step 4 based in Berkshire, and are currently 4th in the Isthmian League South Central Division

 

Plymouth Parkway have another home draw, this time against Hampton & Richmond Borough who are in the  Vanarama National League South.  14th in the table.

The games are scheduled for Saturday 27th November.

FA Vase Final at Wembley 2020/2021 - Binfield FC 2 Rylands 3

On the way to the final Binfield got past United Services Portsmouth a team that saw off Helston Athletic I think possibly 2 seasons ago.

Following the final Binfield's Chairman wrote.

BINFIELD CHAIRMAN OFFERS THANKS TO VILLAGE SUPPORT

On Sunday evening, Binfield Football Club chairman Bob Bacon wrote a short post to the village on the Facebook group We Love Binfield – where an awful lot of love and support for the team has been posted in the last few weeks.

Bob writes:

Thank you all for your support of the football club yesterday at Wembley.

As Chairman, I’m honoured to be a part of a great community who have shown nothing but undying support for a great group of players and staff.

Sorry we couldn’t bring a cup back with us, but we have memories galore that continue to lift spirits and give us hope.

Proud of the lot of you.

Thank you.

There is no break for the club though, work now starts in earnest on preparations for the new season that will see the Moles play at their highest ever level in the Isthmian League South Central Division One alongside Berkshire neighbours Bracknell Town and Thatcham Town as well as nearby Basingstoke Town and Marlow with an overseas away day to Guernsey thrown in for good measure.

Should I add (an oops) - This could be a tough draw for Truro City, Binfield have been motoring a bit this season in league and cup competition. Teams tend to get stronger after a Wembley appearance.

Absolutely buzzing with this draw.  I volunteer with Hampton now, but grew up just outside Plymouth.  First chance to see my new club in my hometown.

A favourable draw for Truro. Whilst Binfield won't be an easy game, they almost certainly could've had a much harder fixture. As for Plymouth Parkway, that's a great draw for them. Another chance of a scalp, whilst being backed by a bumper crowd at Bolitho Park.
