Worrying number of ref shortages in this division and Trelawny. Duchy West doesn't have a single official this weekend.  A sorry state of affairs

Speaking to someone yesterday and they said that only a small number are on the referees course thats been advertised apparently which means clubs obviously don't mind doing it themselves

Lostwithiel res 4 north hill 2

It don’t matter how you win. Just that you get over the line and take the points

2-1 up at half time a fantastic goal from Ben curled one into the top corner from 20 odd yards. Joel with a simple enough header right place right time. Gave away a sloppy penalty after pressure from north hill.

2nd half a lot more fight and pressure from a physical and experienced north hill side who used set plays and their height to their advantage eventually getting a deserved equalise with about 15 mins left

Then a late losty flurry. goals from George and joao after great work in both moves put the game to bed and got us our first win of the season. Not the prettiest of performances but we’ll take the points

Millers 3 Losty 2

Millers were better than us in every department and scored 3 quality goals, the pick being Dean Dingle's 30 yard screamer. The old war horse James Hutchings with 2 for us but the best team won. A big thank you to Paul Buscombe for refereeing and everyone who ran the line. I look forward to seeing The Millers at ours later this season. Cheers Bill.

Boscastle Reserves 5 - Delabole United 3

Line up: M Seldon, D Hambley, C Crook, J Seldon, T Lyle, B Jarram, R Nute, M Parsons, R Williams, J Strout, M Jolliffe. Subs: J Gibson, G Setiawan, A Tapley and M Barrett.

Delabole took the lead in this local derby with a long ball from the keeper Pooley causing a mix up at the back of the castle defence leaving Dan Edwards to cross the ball to Sam Turner to nod in for his first of the day. Delabole had the better of the opening stages and it took an absolute worldy from Robbie Nute to get us back into the game. A volley from 25 yards lobbing the goalie. This is how the first half ended. Boscastle came out second half much better. Took the lead when Gibson played a lovely ball in between the full back and the centre half for Parsons to get on the end of. He had the presence of mind to pull the ball across the box for Jolliffe to tap home from close range. The lead was extended with a free kick from the right touch line swung in with Tim Lyle getting on the end to head home. 4-1 soon came with a smart free kick steered into the top corner by Jarram leaving the keeper helpless. A strange 10 minutes saw Delabole claw their way back into the game. Turner scored again with his head after a series of set pieces and Ben French tucked away a penalty after a clumsy challenge. Boscastle made sure of the points with another free kick in from the right for Tim Lyle to head home for his second and Boscastle's 5th.

MOTM - goes without saying really. Tim Lyle. Fantastic performance

St Merryn 1 GSM 1

GSM started brightly and almost took the lead in the first minute when a ball over the defence from Toby Stott released Richie Rundle, who was forced slightly wide by the advancing keeper. He still managed to get a shot on goal but the covering defender was well placed to block and clear. Shortly after another attempt on target from Richie as he step up to strike a left foot shot straight at the keeper. The chances kept coming for GSM as a deep free kick found Martin Giles at the far post but his first time volley found the side netting. St Merryn's first chance came on 25 mins when a deep ball from the right found a free man at the far post put he was unable to get a clear touch on the ball with goal at his mercy, with GSM clearing for a corner. From the resultant corner St Merryn took the lead as the ball dropped in to the 6 yard box and found an unmarked St Merryn play who nodded home unopposed. Shortly after another Richie Rundle drive from the corner of the box was tip around the post by the St Merryn keeper. No further clear chances for either side as St Merryn went in 1 -0 at the break.

Second half and it was St Merryn who started the quicker, forcing a couple of good saves from stand in GSM keeper Nick Webb. GSM started to get back in to the game, trying to knock the ball about. 63 mins and Nick Webb was again called in to action to save down low to his right. GSM pushed forward and force a throw in deep in St Merryn territory. Angus Joce stepped up and launch a long throw in to the area that evaded everyone except Jordan Rogers  who came steaming in from the right to drive the ball home from 8 yards out. GSM were in the ascendancy as they went looking for their first away win of the season but despite a number of attempt at goal couldn't find the winning goal. Late shouts for a GSM  penalty when Angus Joce drove in to the box only to find himself taken down by the St Merryn defender but the stand in referee waved away the claims as he didn't have a clear view from his position on the opposite side of the box.

Thanks to the stand in referee and both teams linos. Good luck to St Merryn for the rest of the season.
