Steve Carpenter
The documentation and procedure to be followed for those clubs seeking promotion to Step 6 at the conclusion of 2021-22 season has been received from the FA today and forwarded to all member clubs. All applications must be received by the FA no later than 31st December. Similarly, I have this afternoon forwarded to the Secretaries of the ECPL and the Combination League the process to be followed for clubs seeking promotion to St Piran for dissemination to their member clubs. This also includes the process to be followed for clubs wishing to fill any vacancies that may occur once promotion and relegation matters have been settled. Applications for promotion and to fill a vacancy must be received by the League no later than 31st December. If any club seeking promotion to the league or applying to fill a vacancy has any questions at all then please do not hesitate to get in touch. Not many, but grants and the time allowed to bring grounds up to specification will allow most clubs to apply if they are prepared to travel down the right route. The one thing that regularly detracts from clubs being able to move up the ladder, is their existing financial state, the number of committee members who are ready and able to work updating their facilities, aligned with the ability to attract players of the right quality to play in a senior grade. We have often wondered how a small village club survived in the S.W.P.L. and still were able to improve and sustain their facilities for both players and suporters. The question was admirably answered by a post in the Ladies Football section of this forum, where it was explained that the website manager was considered a newcomer as he had only been with the club for 15 years, 9 x others had been with the club for much longer, and 6 of them had played for the club many years before. The answer to the question posed above is, if you have the desire to make an effort for your club to move up the senior ladder, with a committee like the one referred to you will be on a winner. Hard work and a commitment to a club will always stand you in good stead, if that is lacking you are on dangerous ground that probably means that you are better off staying where you are. Judging from previous comments on the forum about the lack of people who serve on local committees, and critically those prepared to help with ground preparation leading up to match day, 9 or 10 committee members is quite a success. Yes I know all of these points having been involved on committee's for a long time.but just asking out of interest. If you look on the west side. Most of the teams at the top would need work. Only Helston could walk straight up on facilities and no team in this league. Don't know what the situation is with Illogan's ground because of pitch size, though in my opinion they have everything there. St. Day have the drive and committee and Ludgvan their problem would be the cricket square.
Steve Carpenter
Floodlights are probably one of the main things to consider. Providing planning permission is in place it's not a problem but they don't come cheap even with the significant grants available at Step 6. Outside the Peninsula reserve sides, Hayle, Saltash Borough and Porthleven I know of two clubs from each division that are looking to install them. There are clubs at Step 6 that share with cricket and have them so it can be done at the likes of St Day and Ludgvan.

Any ideas why they’re struggling for results this season?
Dave Deacon
They’ve pretty much got the same playing record as when the season was curtailed last time around! Perhaps it’s a case that other teams have simply caught them up!
Cornish Dave
How many teams can get promoted from the st pirans? I have watched plenty of football this year and the stand outs in this league are Falmouth, illogan, st day and truro. I could see them holding their own on the SWPL it will be interesting to see who will apply though

Also not sure if they have lost any players. Not feeling that informed on this post 😂😀
